Looks great. Quiet. Nice solid ice.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought about a month ago. Replaced a 7 year old competitor model. This unit is much quieter. The ice cubes are maybe 3/4” square by 1/4 inch high. But sold through. Again much better than competitor. Scoop seams a bit big. Bought through a quest pass. Very nice deal and service!!

very loud noises
this ice maker can keep up with about 10-20 lbs of ice daily. During a evening of friends and family, we pretty much empty it. During the night is when the noise happens. This machine makes a lot of noise during freezing and popping ice out of try. Sounds like the whole thing is ready to blow up. It make loud banging noise when dumping trays. It really sounds like it might break.

Just 2 Weeks of Use

Unreliable, ok when/if it works
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this machine with a new construction home. I initially had issues with short lifetime of internal water filters. They would only last 2-3 months and then clog. Ultimately I had to purchase an inline filter to resolve the issue. Then after 1.5 years the machine stopped making ice. After 4 troubleshooting calls to attempt to fix it, Whirlpool agreed to replace the machine. The new machine was installed by JB Hunt the freight delivery people. After installing it made it however water was collecting in the ice area. I had to call the local service people to address the issue. Once they came and took a look at the machine they determine that the drain pump was missing. Apparently the JB Hunt driver who installed the machine was not aware of the drain pump and need to move it from the old machine to the new one. Why JB Hunt is installing ice makers makes no sense to me. The local service company then had to get approval to install a new drain pump. Our machine has been down almost 3 months with all of this going on. Certainly this could have been handled in a better way. I have had to spend an incredible amount of time on this attempting to get this resolved. Will not purchase this machine again.

Terrible Ice maker!
This is the third ice maker we’ve owned and by far the worst. Can’t believe KitchenAid would put their name on such a poor quality product. Since we’ve owned the unit, in addition to other parts and pieces, the pump has been replaced no fewer than 8 times. Each time the machine needs repaired, it’s down for at least 2-4 weeks. Word of advice, if you decide to buy this poor quality ice maker, make sure you buy the extended warranty… you’ll need it.

Nice under cabinet icemaker
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced a 5 year old Kitchenaid under cabinet ice maker. This new one works better than the original one did. Once we got everything hooked up ourselves, ice production was awesome! It is tricky getting any type of water appliance connected by the delivery people. Everything needs to be readily accessible with shutoff valves, etc. so make sure that is done before delivery!

Ice Maker Replacement

Installation was easy as this model is almost exact as my old one as far as the water supply, and drain lines. Only had it a week but so far it is good.
