Questions & Answers
If used on an exterior door w/ deadbolt, what if someone used an allen key to loosen the set screw & remove the outside knob from the stem. They'd have access to the inside of the assembly; seems they could knock the interior knob off with not much force?
The exterior doorknob can be removed by using the allen key but it is secured on the door by the two mounting screws on the interior side.
Has anyone used this outside in the weather? We are using a deadbolt for locking, so don't want a lock on the knob, which is why we plan to use this on exterior door.
Yes, this knob can be installed on an exterior door. All Kwikset finishes are tested for durability in all weather conditions. For product maintenance, we suggest using warm, soapy water to clean it and then towel-dry the hardware. To protect the finish you can polish the knob with carnauba wax. We do not recommend using solvents nor harsh chemicals, which will void the finish warranty. What part/s of the knob are plastic? Is any metal used?

We have the San Clamente lockset for our front door and would like to replace the lever with a round knob. Will this work with that set?
There are scuff marks on the ring cover that do not come out with ss cleaner. I bought 3 packs and each one has scuffs on the ring cover that touches the door. Is this part replaceable or do I have to exchange the whole doorknob assembly?

I installed several and am finding that each doorknob is a bit challenging to turn/open. Any ideas how to fix this?
We recommend loosening the mounting screws on the rose plate a quarter turn. If the latch is still hard to turn, the latch may need replacement. To help you with this, please call our Support Team for warranty assistance at 1-800-327-LOCK (5625).
