Q:Just installed this and the install was easy but the interior-side knob won?t turn once the button is locked. How do I fix this?

Answer This Question

A:  The knob will not rotate when the turn-piece is in the locked (vertical) position. The turn-piece must be in the unlocked (horizonal) position to rotate the knob and open the door.

      A:  The doorknob would have to be removed from the door first to reset the key, which is not possible from the outside.

          A:  SmartKey Security is an added feature that allows only someone with the current working key to re-key the lock cylinder to a different key. Inserting the SmartKey learn tool and using a random key will not re-key the lock nor unlock the door. In addition, SmartKey Security protects against advanced break-in techniques, like picking and bumping.                 Very nice— couple things though…
                This is a very nice door knob and seems sturdy. Very easy to install and the smart key feature worked like a charm. It’s not matte—- I wish it were. It’s a bit more shiny than I’d hoped and shiner than my Schlage knobs. Also— the screws don’t sit flush, so you can see the holes with the sunken screws, which kinda stands out. But, otherwise, a good product.
