Product Details

The SmartCode touchscreen smart lock with Home Connect technology enables the lock to wirelessly communicate with other devices in home. The lock allows the user (through a web enabled device) to remotely check the door lock status, lock or unlock the door and receive notifications. SmartCode is a 1-touch locking motorized deadbolt. With your personalized code, you can enter your home with the convenience of keyless entry and the back-lit keypad provides increased visibility. It features patented SecureScreen technology to prevent code detection from fingerprints on the touchscreen. SmartCode is easy to install, program and use and operates on 4 AA batteries. It also features SmartKey Security as the back-up keyway. This single cylinder deadbolt can be locked or unlocked by using the keypad or key from the outside as well as the turn button from the inside. The crisp, clean appearance of the Satin Nickel finish adds to the overall look of the product and brings a modern feel.

A:  The SmartCode 916 connects to a Z-Wave compatible hub or security system for remote access through your smartphone via an app. The lock itself cannot be connected directly without the proper setup. Here are some examples of Z-Wave compatible hubs and security systems: Samsung SmartThings, Wink, Honeywell, Vera, Vivint, ADT, or Ring Alarm System. The lock will still function electronically even if your power goes out, as it's powered by 4 AA batteries and can also be unlocked with a key if the battery power is low.

            Great Integration with Ring
            This lock has an amazing degree of integration with the Ring app and is exactly the smart lock I was looking for. Setting up the lock itself is done through the Ring app and user codes on the device are the same as the ones you've set up for the Ring system/keypad to disarm. Ring shared access users can also manage via smartphone, and you can also setup code-based only users. Works seamlessly with Alexa for easy voice-based locking. Installation was simple with no major issues.

              Very finicky
              I bought this lock because it connected to my zwave home automation smart things. This lock screen is finicky hard to unlock at times or getting screen to light up. If someone is coming at you good luck. The state of locked or unlocked is never correct causing you to wonder if door is actually locked. Wish i could just go to a plain button lock. Wasted alot of money on this lock to really not feel happy with it.

To fix this, we recommend making sure the lock was installed with the latch fully extended, measuring the door frame jamb hole to ensure that it's at least 1 inch deep, and checking the door alignment.                 Does not track user codes
                We bought this for my mother-in-law to track caretakers. It does not work with the kwikset application but does in Smartthings. It does a good job tracking opening and closing but does not say which code was entered which would be a good thing.. I would likely get another product that can track user codes.
