Questions & Answers

We love this refrigerator; we even purchased it twice! However, the new one's ice bin is oddly sized and placed for the ice maker, and ice fills the whole top drawer. Is there a fix for this other than moving the bin and it sliding all over the place?
ByMar 13, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Hello Natalie, we appreciate you sharing your experience with the LG LRDCS2603S, and we understand how important it is for the ice to stay contained in the bin instead of spreading across the top freezer drawer. One helpful step is to make sure the ice bin is fully seated, since even a small gap can cause cubes to fall outside the container. Removing the bin and reinstalling it firmly can help the ice drop directly into the bin. The manual also shows how the bin is designed to sit securely in its position, and checking that the drawer is fully extended before placing the bin back in can improve alignment. What are the measurements of this refrigerator - height, depth, width?

              Answer This Question

Hi Campbell, thanks for reaching out about the LRDCS2603S. We understand you want the exact measurements to confirm it fits your space. This refrigerator measures 69.88" in height, 32.75" in width, and 35" in depth with handles. A helpful step is to also include the recommended installation clearance: 1/8" on each side, 1" on top, and 1" behind for proper airflow. You can review the full dimensions here: https://www.lg.com/us/refrigerators/lg-lrdcs2603s-bottom-freezer-refrigerator If you need help checking your cutout or planning the fit, feel free to email lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com

                Answer This Question

Hi John, we appreciate you reaching out about your LRDCS2603S. We understand wanting to know if a filter can be added since the back panel looks like it has a space for one. This model does not use an internal air filter, and LG does not recommend installing one. The Multi‑Air Flow™ and Smart Cooling® systems are designed to circulate air efficiently without a filter. One helpful step is keeping the vents clear so airflow stays consistent throughout the refrigerator. How to drain water out after changing water filer. Ice maker is in bottom freezer and has no water dispenser

                  Answer This Question

Hi Perry, we appreciate you reaching out. We understand wanting to make sure your LRDCS2603D is set up correctly after a filter change. Since this model doesn’t have a water dispenser, the system clears itself through the ice maker. One helpful step you can try is turning the ice maker off for about 30 minutes, then turning it back on so it can cycle fresh water through the new filter. Discard the first 2–3 batches of ice to complete the flush. LG Warranty Woes
I bought this model from Home Depot in Oct 2021. It was a good reliable unit for the capacity and price. The taller height gives extra capacity in the smaller width. We had to stay with a smaller width due to the counter limitations. Downside , the unit stopped cooling at a little over 4 years old. LG said the sealed cooling unit was still under full parts and labor warranty which saved us from buying a replacement. Unfortunately, LG still has not sent out a repairman or scheduled the repair for the past 2 1/2 weeks. Meanwhile its difficult living without a normal working fridge. Luckily we have a basement freezer and have rotated frozen gallons of water into the fridge to have some quality of life. Buyer beware, Warranties are not a joyride. Maybe buy a GE or Frigidaire next time.

I absolutely love my new fridge! The fridge is very spacious, and the bottom section is deep enough to hold large frozen items. The shelves are adjustable, which makes it easy to store tall bottles or bigger dishes. It runs quietly and keeps everything super cold. Plus, the sleek, modern design makes my kitchen look updated and fresh. Highly recommend!

Lasted less than 5 years, not worth the risk
Inherited this fridge as a buyer of a house. Dated 2020. Compressor went out two months after the 5 year parts and labor warranty. LG also won't cover an item if you were not original buyer either. Still was under the 10 year parts warranty but LG doesn't cover it if you weren't buyer or if you do not have a receipt. ~$1400 fix if it goes out. They are known for this issue too. I will never by an LG fridge again, pathetic coverage of a known flaw in their line up. It's too bad a fridge that honestly did a good job could be this wasted due to strict adhearance to policy. Have fun buying a new $1,800 fridge every five years or $1400 worth of maintenance.

I’m very happy with my LG fridge purchase. It cools very evenly and I like the single door (as opposed to the French door) opening. I also like the large internal icemaker bin which allows for large quantities of ice to be made and stored for filling coolers.

                        I would think twice
After contacting HD customer support, they told me to contact LG as our handle broke at the top. We bought this fridge under a year ago so the handle is still covered under warranty. I have just spent 50 minutes on the phone with LG's poor customer service who will send out the part but refuse to send out someone to install it. Our handle is broken at the top and not the bottom so we will need someone to remove it fully and install the top. They told us to "call someone local". Needless to say, it was very unhelpful and I will not be buying LG products going forward. For context, this fridge in located in an office where our staff of 25 only come in 2 days a week. Poor design, and worse customer service.

As we send the replacement part, consider checking the handle's mounting points. The handle is usually secured by screws accessible by gently removing the decorative caps. Lots of space, but terrible quality.
Compressor went out within 2 years, was fortunate that it happened during the limited warranty period. Now, probably 1 year later, we think it’s out again. Ice maker stopped making ice. This is a terrible product for 1700 dollars. I imagine we will get no assistance from LG this time, and will have to cover yet another repair out of pocket.

Hi, Noah. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the LG Refrigerator (LRDCS2603D) model. We’re glad to hear the initial compressor repair was covered under the limited warranty, and we understand the importance of long-lasting, reliable performance—especially with a feature like the ice maker.

If the ice maker has stopped working again, check that the freezer is below 19°F, as cooling is crucial for ice production. You might also try resetting the ice maker by turning it off for 30 seconds and then back on. Great fridge until it something goes wrong
We actually LOVE this fridge. But I'm leaving this review to warn others-- do not expect great things from LG if something goes wrong. Our compressor went out over two months ago (the fridge is 4 years old and the compressor has a 10 year parts/labor warranty which the company does not dispute). It has been an ABSOLUTE nightmare dealing with LG. They sent a repair company out and the problem was diagnosed and repair scheduled, only to be cancelled on the day of repair because of some unknown computer error on LG's end that they still haven't figured out. And now apparently they've been looking for a new repair company for a week and a half. Bottom line, while the fridge might be great, the risk of being without one for months and months because LG can't get it together is not worth it.

Hello there, AshV. We understand your inquiry regarding your LG 33-in. W 26 cu ft Bottom Freezer Refrigerator (Model LRDCS2603S) and truly appreciate how much you love its performance—while also recognizing how challenging unexpected downtime can be. Having reliable cooling is essential, so let’s try a quick troubleshooting step that can sometimes help re-initialize the compressor control:

                            Troubleshooting Step:

Soft Power Reset: Unplug your refrigerator from the wall outlet for 5 minutes. This power cycle can clear stored error codes and allow the control board to re-prompt the compressor start sequence when you plug it back in.

Condenser Coil & Level Check: While powered down, gently vacuum or brush the rear condenser coils to remove any dust buildup. Also ensure the unit sits level front-to-back and side-to-side—proper leveling helps the compressor operate smoothly and can prevent strain during start-up.

                              Repeated Water/Ice Issues
This is the second LG refrigerator we've purchased in the last 2 years in which the water/ice functions have either failed entirely or malfunctioned in some capacity. The first is still having issues nearly 15 months later despite repeated service calls; the second was delivered only 2 weeks ago and the ice maker is already spraying water all over the freezer. Unfortunately, this issue started outside of the 48 hour return window, and we're now forced to deal with LG service until the issue is resolved (which, based on our previous experience, isn't guaranteed). For what's it's worth, this refrigerator is replacing a previous, 10-year-old LG that still runs fine, but that ice maker also failed twice, both times leaving water pooled underneath the appliance and surrounding cabinets. Thankfully, the floors and cabinet boxes are solid wood and didn't need to be replaced, but particle board and/or engineered wood likely wouldn't have fared so well. Besides the water/ice features we've had no complaints (we moved old LG into the garage instead of fixing the ice maker again), so it's incredibly disappointing LG can't get this under control.

Hi, Nate. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your concern about dealing with recurring issues with the water and ice functions on your LG Refrigerator (LRDCS2603S) model, especially after investing in another LG unit. We strive to provide high-quality products that exceed our customers' needs and expectations.
If the ice maker sprays water, there could be an issue with the water line connection or a clogged valve, which could cause water to leak into the freezer. We recommend checking the water line connection to ensure it’s properly secured and that there are no kinks or blockages. Also, you might want to inspect the ice maker’s water inlet valve to ensure it's working properly. Hey there. It's good that the compressor of your LG fridge is still under warranty, but losing food and dealing with cooling inconsistencies isn't ideal. We see in your picture that it's being worked on. Has this been resolved yet? If not, we would like to look into your account and help get this resolved quickly. Please private message us on social media @LGUSSupport with your contact details. We'll be waiting for your message so we can get you through this. ^David
