A: No, I was in the similar suitivation, but I have used extra double sided tap to handle the issue.
A: The single channel Cordmate does not open very far, so it is more difficult to use screws. Cordmate II and Cordmate III are hinged and can open all the way.
A: I used small white cable clamps with nails that are sold for holding wires to rafters. It would probably be a challenge to screw it on, but if you pre-drilled the holes, including one to let a small screw driver through from the front side, you shouldn't have any trouble.
A: Yes, you can use this to run doorbell wire since that is low voltage.

A: Yes, this can be used on ceilings.
A: I think you can if your ceiling is smooth. The adhesive is not very strong so you may need to add some 3M strips if you are running it a long distance
