UP to 300 watts worth of lamps. It would require a multiple plug or extension cord with multiple outlets as this only has one inline outlet.

Can this be used with a ceiling fan

First, this device plugs into an outlet. Second, Ceiling fans are direct wired. Ceiling fans typically have three speeds. Therefore, the answer is NO! Placing a dimmer in a circuit with an AC motor will generate heat and probably cause problems........ Check or contact manufacturer.

What is the warranty on these? I've had several throughout the house over the years after about a year they quit workin

I have had one for several years I use it to dim the low voltage lights on my deck. It has been awesome and without any problems. As an electrician and a Home Depot employee I highly recommend them. The reason your dimmer keeps burning out maybe you have too much wattage going through the dimmer. Check and see you don’t overload it. You should stay below 80% of the rated wattage.

The cord is stiff as a stick
I had a Lutron tabletop dimmer that was good for incandescent bulbs. I switched to LEDs and the old dimmer was not good (lights blinking). Bought this dimmer which solved the blinking problem but the cord is very rigid and cannot lay flat on tabletop. Looks ugly. The old dimmer had a nice soft cord. I'm recommending the product assuming you are not concerned about the appearance.

Works very well. Use it on my desk to control a floor lamp in the corner. Works well and provides nice dimming options. The only knock is that I get a small buzz on my computer speakers which are close by it when it is on. Easily cured by moving further away from speakers.

I enjoy the product very much. It is a full range dimmer switch, not a " high medium low off" switch. It was easy to hook up. The tabletop dimmer was easy to plug into the electrical outlet, or extension cord, and then all I had to do was plug the lamp into the tabletop dimmer. It worked perfectly right from the start! I've had other dimmers where I had to splice an electrical cord, expose copper wires, and wrap them around contact screws. I've purchased other so-called "dimmers" that work like a three way lamp switch - high, medium, low, off. This tabletop dimmer gradually increases the light source from very dim too very bright and back to very dim again, and finally off. I use it next to my bed, or I put the switch in bed with me, so I can control the lamp and the amount of light right from the tabletop dimmer switch without reaching awkwardly with my arm or getting out of bed. This tabletop dimmer is just what I've been looking for!

Good price / Good Value
Great product for the price. I'm using these to control several 100 Watt Cree LED lights for continuous photography lighting. They cause a little bit of flicker when dimmed to just short of the 'off' position, but this is a level I don't expect to use for my purposes.
