A: Yes, they are commercial rated.
A: Yes it worked and matched the colors
A: Hi Sf if you think you will bend the plug, then use a heaver plug for a couple time to break it in. Then go back to the one you want. Sound like it is just stiff from being new. If you still can use it call Leviton 1-800-824-3005. But I just slam it in when I test all the building with a tester, so have had some that are more stiff than other but just dont be afraid just stick it in, or you could use a recpt tester to make sure is wired correctly and it will break it in along the way, I use the Klein Model RT105, but for a less costly one use Model # RT110 is only like $6. And you can ckeck all recepts to insure all are wired right
A: Just correcting information provided by sparky1: Backwiring and backstabbing are not the same thing. Backwire is legal and ideal.
A: This is a practice known as "Back-Stabbing" it is no longer a legal way to wire in outlets per code because it is unstable and known to cause arcing and electrical fire. This is why Levition does not make back stabbed outlet anymore
A: Hi kd, not that I know of you can go to Home Depot and look at recepts as see, but after 40+ years of installing 1000's+ receptacles, I prefer to curl my wires an is a better connection and if install correctly a connection and faster installation that is very tight and does not loosen easily on the years
A: Al, NO -this outlet is NOT designed for aluminum wiring- it is for use on up to #10 copper wiring. For aluminum wiring you need an outlet with a CO/ALR (copper/aluminum revised) rating. Home Depot does sell other outlets with CO/ALR rating. The link below is one of several CO/ALR outlets that they do sell - https://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-15-Amp-Duplex-CO-ALR-Outlet-White-12650-W/100357043 I am not an electrician but have done a lot of wiring. Personally if my home had aluminum wiring I would hire a licensed electrician to do any work on it. The big problem is not the wire itself- the problems arise generally out of the connections. They have to be done correctly and can cause a fire if not properly connected.
A: Hi Al No this device is not for aluminum wiring, been years the last time I even had a service call for aluminum wiring the only recept I can think of is Leviton 15 Amp Duplex CO/ALR Outlet, White Model # 12650-W, you might just check around for others but MUST be labeled CO/ALR for you are looking for wiring and fire problems. And you would be wise to have a licensed electrician do the work
