I removed a 2 light bulb fixture to install this single light bulb socket. the base of the new socket was smaller by about a half inch diameter, so it wouldn't cover the marks in my ceiling from the old fixture. I ended up using the cover plate from the old fixture to cover the marks in the ceiling, which meant dropping the new light socket down 1.5 inches from the ceiling. I also had to knock out the plastic tabs on the inside mounting screw holes of the new light socket, because the outer mounting screw holes wouldn't have worked. Why not just leave knock out plastic tabs in all of the screw mounting holes, and let me choose which tabs to knock out? Somewhat disappointed in this product!

I love using these as temporary lighting on large renovation projects. These lights are a lifesaver. They provide enough light for the painters and drywall guys, and the housing is really compact, so they can mud & finish and paint jamb up to the ceiling light boxes without missing any areas. And I never have to worry about having paint or drywall compound on ceiling fans. When the painters are done, we take these down and install the final light fixtures. These fixtures are durable and are a great value.

I am reviewing the Leviton plastic ceiling lampholder. I installed this as a supplemental light near my work bench area in the basement. It has basic screw connections for the wire on the back of the fixture. Fits a standard box with knockouts for smaller 3 1/4" boxes. One concern when installing these plastic fixtures is do not use a power screwdriver to tighten the mounting screws. The plastic may break if the screws are too tight. Use a hand screwdriver and there won't be a problem. Instructions on back of package are clean and complete. Overall a good product.

This is a low cost lampholder that I am using in an unfinished attic space. I hope the plastic doesn't melt in the hot and humid Houston summers. Be careful with the wiring. Using 12 gauge solid copper wires could easily bend the brass connection to the lampholder if you aren't careful.

Last week I replaced an older light fixture our carport. It was really easy to mount and connect.
