These are the units that can be upgraded, generally they cannot. Pro Core 125 (Code 11300 only), Weld Pak125HD (Code 11302 only), Easy Core 125 (Code 11503 only), Work Pak 125 (Code 11506 only), Core Pak 125 (Code 11550 only). This kit will NOT work on the following units as they cannot be converted to use gas: Pro Core 125 (Code 11631), Weld Pak 125HD (Code 11632), Easy Core 125 (Code 11633), Work Pak 125 (Code 11638), Core Pak 125 (Code 11639)

can this welder be plugged into a household outlet

Asked by: bob
yes, just don't use an extension cord if you can help it. If you do have to use extension cord use a heavy gauge one no longer than 10 ft. for best results.

should i use a face shield for this unit .

New to welding not sure if i need a shield
Asked by: Robert
Always use a welding hood with at least a number 10 lense. It only take a small exposure to get flash burn on your eyes which is extremely painful.

Good Morning...Metal Shapes Have No Bearing On A Welder. Metal Thickness Is Where Limitations Come In To Play. Look Into The Specs Of The Welder For Its Material Thickness Capabilities. One Note On Materials You Suggested. Never Weld A Coated Metal (Galvanized, Chromed, ETC.). Fumes From Many Of These Coatings Are Very Toxic To Breath In. Good Luck...Ken

For a machine that plugs into a 110v outlet I am really impressed by this unit. As others have said you really do need a dedicated 20amp outlet and a heavy gauge extension cord if using one. The wire feed is flawless and super easy to change rolls of wire. if you have any sort of a sizeable project invest in a 10lb roll of wire this machine will burn thru a 1lb roll of wire effortlessly. I haven't been able to out weld the machine yet it just keeps chugging along. I know this isn't a 230v machine that all the welding forums will say you need to buy, but this is plenty of machine for a home owner and backyard DIY person looking to stick some metal together. Everything Lincoln says this welder can do it does.

The only issue I had was that the gun was incomplete. It was missing the diffuser and the black cap. It looks like someone cut open the tape, stole them, and retaped the box up. So I had to go to my local weld shop, luckily they had what I needed so I could get welding immediately. Overall it wells good. Nice and hot. the wire feed is smooth and consistent and the chart for wire speed and heat is very helpful.

And there are several things l really like about it: Quiet, easy to replace wire when the spool is depleted. And powerful enough to get a good weld. I have only had it about a month and already built a 5x8' utility trailer. I really love this welder.

Light welds , really pushes and need multiple passes for 10gauge steel or thicker . Not great for galvanized or aluminium . No gas this is a straight flux core . Very easy set up and operation as well.

Very low Amp expectations, not likely for working medium steel welding. Compared with my Craftsman 20569 Welder, price and capacity.
