Thank you for your inquiry. Please reach out to our Support Team at support@Lutron.com or by phone at 1 (844) 588-7661 for additional assistance.
The TGCL-153P is rated for lighting loads only. Lutron does not recommend using this device to operate a fan. Instead, Lutron suggests the AY2-LFSQ or the DVFSQ-LF. The AY2-LFSQ is a 3 speed fan control with dimmer and the DVFSQ-LF is a 3 speed fan control with switch.
The TGCL-153P is a TRIAC based dimmer, however the LEDs may not be compatible still. Currently, there is no industry standard or regulation for the manufacturing of LEDs and the performance will vary with different dimming controls. With this information in mind, Lutron performs extensive testing on a variety of LEDs from many different manufacturers and posts our most up to date testing information on our LED compatibility tool. Lutron would suggest visiting www.lutron.com/ledfinder or www.lutron.com/ledtool to find compatible LEDs for a Lutron dimmer. For a recommendation on an ELV dimmer, please reach out to our Support Team at support@Lutron.com or by phone at 1 (844) 588-7661.
The TGCL-153P dimmer is rated for 150W of compatible LED/CFL or 600W incandescent/halogen lighting. If using LEDs, Lutron recommends visiting www.lutron.com/ledfinder to see which LEDs are compatible.
The switch is installed in a box that is inside the wall, which does not have the high humidity of the bathroom, so I would say yes.
Yes. Can be one or three way, and diagram included in box along with YouTube, can help folks wire it.
Lutron has tested that particular LED and it did not meet our performance standards. Instead, Lutron suggests a different LED from either www.lutron.com/ledfinder or www.lutron.com/ledtool. Additionally, you may contact HALO for a recommendation on the dimmer to be used with this LED.
For 3-way applications with the TGCL-153P, only one location will be replaced by this dimmer. The second location will remain a standard on/off mechanical 3-way switch. For dimming at both locations, Lutron recommends the MACL-153M and companion dimmer MA-R.
If they are dimmable then yes, I have mine running dimmable LED lights. It should say dimmable on the box if not, then I would say no.
I do not know which specific Cree lights you are referring to, but this dimmer switch works for all the Cree led lights I have and without any noise or other problems.
