When do I remove the anti-rotation pin? Is drywall considered a hard surface? Thanks

Drywall is a hard surface. Anti-rotation pin? My hook moves up and down.

Can you install this hook in a hollow core door?

I think you could by using anchors and screws but I would not recommend it. The walls of hollow core doors are thinner than drywall, and may not support much weight. If you had to it is easier to repair drywall than the door should the anchors fail because of too much weight on the hook.

how doe s the installation work on the Eva ring.

Answer

Hello betty and thank you for your interest in the Moen Eva YB2886BN Towel Ring. This accessory uses the Moen Pro-Fit Installation Mounting System. After marking the wall where you want it installed, use a ¼” drill bit and drill a pilot hole for the post. Position the mounting post to the wall by inserting the wall anchor and pressing firmly. Make sure the locking tab on the mounting post is down at the 6 o’clock position. Tighten the wall anchor while holding the mounting post firmly. Finally, attach the mounting post by pressing firmly until it clicks. If you have additional questions, please feel free to call us at 800-289-6636. Our business hours are 9:00 am - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday(EST).

On the under side of the part that mounts to the wall is a small rectangular opening for you to insert a regular screwdriver. This part "clips" on. You need the clip to release so you can remove the hook.

I have a Moen pivot style toilet paper holder. The pivot arm fell off . Can you please tell me how to reattach it?

On the under side of the tip on the part mounted on the wall, there is a hole. I suspect there is a set screw in there. Try a small allen wrench.

Nice towel bar, installation not as easy as advertised
While the towel bar was exactly what we ordered and quite well made, the instructions bear little resemblance to my reality. Note that when it comes to hanging anything on a wall I am evidently seriously challenged. The installation concept is great and the identical towel bar next to this one attests to the fact that if you know what you are doing it can be firmly installed. My first hole drilled was fine, nothing but sheetrock. The installation mechanism worked like a big molly bolt (because it IS a big molly bolt). Tight and secure against the wall. The second hole I drilled hit a stud which the instructions covered in detail. Just snap the rotation blocks off the installation screw and put it in the hole. Except it wouldn't fit in the hole. Taking the molly expansion piece off the screw left the hole too large for the screw which is NOT a wood screw and would not thread into the 2x4 (and believe it or not, you can not re-drill a hole smaller). I eventually found a larger wood screw that would suffice, probably from one of my other hanging experiences, and attached the unit to the wall. This installation method is nice in that it isn't really visible after you've finished. Bottom line is the towel bar looks and works great, perfectly matches the one attached next to it, and is attached firmly to the wall. And yes, I would recommend this brand to a friend as I'm sure the installation problems were of my own making.

Very nice towel bars.
We purchased two towel bars for a newly remodeled bathroom. These are just what we needed. Very sharp. Love the brushed nickel finish.

Pretty towel bars, Terrible mounts
I ordered the 18" & 24" towel bars to match the Eva Towel Shelf. They are very pretty & functional, but the contractors had problems installing the 18" (in the shower). It is not as tight fitting as it should be. The 24", on the outside wall (under the window) fits much more snugly. The bars hold the towels nicely as well.

Love the towel bars, not so much the mounts
I ordered the 18" & 24" towel bars to match the Eva Towel Shelf I ordered. They are very pretty & functional, but the contractors did have issues with the mounts during installation. The 18" (in the shower) is not as tight fitting as it should be. The 24" one on the outside wall fits more snugly.

Great looking, easy to use
We prefer the towel ring to a towel bar and these are very nice. Installation was easy and they appear to be sturdy and will be dependable over the laong haul. They look very stylish, too.
