We have a small shop vac that we started with it attached. However due to the hose length I found it easier to use the standard bag, but it did a decent enough job.

how is it for wall sanding

Like sanding plaster/patch? It might be a little aggressive for that, but would work. You'll just need to make sure you have appropriate sanding discs and the correct shop-vac filter if you're hooking it up to something and not just using the bag. For a large job I would consider getting a variable speed sander to better accommodate final finish sanding.

I bought the sander to refinish some furniture pieces I have and I was amazed how easy it is to use! The sanding pads go on and come off so easy! I would highly recommend using this product! I did my first piece in less than 2 hours! I attached before and after photos!

You can not go wrong with this Palm Sander as it well worth paying just a little bit more for and the quality is much better than other brands I've purchased in the past. A little over a year and half ago my husband and I started restoring furniture for additional income and we already had our first Makita orbital sander but it at that point hadn't had much use. Fast forward about 4 months later and we basically ran the poor thing into the ground due to how much use we put it through and needed to purchase a new one. I was able to purchase our second one on Sale at Home Depot for a fantastic price and we now have been using the 2nd one for a year now, located a company that sells the replacement pads and learned how to extend the life of our sander with regular maintenance. My daughter was wanting a new dresser for her room since she's getting older and part of the deal was she had to participate in the restoration of it so pictured is my husband and daughter and he is teaching her how to safely use a sander with a mask on since he did not have the dust catcher on it. All we use now is Makita hand tools for all our restoration builds!

After reading through these reviews, I decided to purchase this sander and I have not been disappointed. So far, I have sanded my kitchen cabinets and they are great. This sander is powerful and as long as you have durable paper, it will work flawlessly. The dust collection is okay and has to be changed often but definitely does a great job of keeping the area clean. No complaints here. Excellent sander!

Makita is my brand of choice, because they engineer quiet and user friendly products. Comfortable, effective dust extraction and a great price. The hook & loop sand-paper should be removed after the tool has cooled (as with all sanders using hook & loop) to avoid ruining the pad. I now own the 5" orbital and finish sander from Makita, I use them to refinish kitchen cabinets mainly and people are often astonished of the speed it can remove old stain and take it to its natural state. Love Them.

This is My Work Horse Sander
We are renovating a 90 year old house and have refinished all the doors and trim throughout the house. I bought this sander after some extensive research. I have now used and abused this product for over a year now ( also purchased Model # BO4556K as a companion sander) and have been very please. This is what I consider to be my "work horse" sander. I use it for everything and have run it non-stop for countless hours. Some features I like: *it is simple (one speed, turn it on and go) *fits well in the hand and has rubber grip *sufficient power and does not bog down *Dust collection is decent - i like that the bag can be removed and a shop vac can be attached *switch is sealed in rubber - keeps dust out *Dust bag easy to empty Some things in which the product could be improved: *I dont care for the hard case (I don't use it) - would have preferred a bag (just my preference) *The dust collection bag will slip off sometimes After abusing the sander for 10 months I had wore out the edges of the sander pad (from forcing the edge into corners it could not go ;) ). I bought a replacement pad, which was easy to install. Still running like new.
