Moving heavy objects without a dolly and/or protective plywood beneath may cause damage to any type of flooring. Damage may also occur from spiked and/or high heels and pet claws. Falling objects can also dent or fracture any type of flooring. Scratching to any hard surface floor may occur if proper precautions are not taken, here are a few steps we suggest: Protect your floor when using a dolly for moving furniture or appliances. Never slide or roll heavy furniture or appliances across the floor. • Place protective pads beneath furniture legs and other heavy objects. • Minimize abrasive material and dirt by placing mats on both sides of exterior doors and by using area rugs in high traffic areas • Use protective mats beneath rolling chairs and keep furniture casters clean. • Keep pets’ nails trimmed. • Remove shoes with cleats, spikes or exceptionally pointy heels before walking on the floor
