How should I clean this flooring ?
All Malibu Wide Plank Rigid Vinyl Flooring is very easy to clean and maintain. For all care & Maintenance, please refer to the PDF attachment located under Additional Resources From the Manufacturer on the product listing page and locate USE & CARE Manual: CARE & MAINTENANCE as follows: 1. Sweep, dust mop or vacuum your floor regularly to remove any particles that could cause abrasion or scratch your floor. CAUTION: Vacuums with a beater bar or power rotary brush head can damage a floor and should NOT be used. 2. Apply appropriate cleaning solution to the cleaning cloth / mop. Use a cleaner specifically manufactured for resilient flooring. Do NOT apply directly to the floor. For tougher spots, use a concentration of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. HINT: For best results, clean the floor in the same direction of the planks. When the cleaning cloth/mop becomes soiled, rinse or replace it with a clean one. Following up with a clean, dry cloth will remove residual streak marks and spots. 3. Do NOT leave any amount of liquids (water, juice, soft drinks, spills, pet urine, etc.) on the floor. Clean any wet spots immediately. 4. Do NOT use a steam cleaner. 5. Do NOT use a wet mop or douse floor with water or liquid cleaners. Liquid can seep between the cracks and cause moisture damage. 6. Do NOT use any cleaning agents containing ammonia, wax, oil or polish. Left over residue will form a dull film. Use a neutral pH cleaner to avoid damage to the finish. 7. Do NOT use steel wool or scouring powder which will scratch the floor. CLEANERS FOR MALIBU WIDE PLANK RIGID CORE VINYL FLOORING: Recommended would be a neutral PH Floor Cleaner and a cleaner that does not contain any cleaning agents containing ammonia, wax, oil or polish
Does 100% silicone caulking adhere well to LVP flooring used in kitchen and bathroom or is siliconized acrylic latex caulk better? Which type of waterproofing caulk works best on vinyl flooring?
A 100% silicone caulk can be used only at potentially wet areas (tub toilet, washing machine, etc.) It should not be used around the entire perimeter. Our planks are waterproof (meaning water will not cause them to swell, delaminate, etc.) but liquid/water can seep between the seams of most any plank product and create a potential mold and mildew issue underneath if it's left too long. CLIMATE CONTROLLED INSTALL: Malibu Wide Plank Flooring should only be installed inside in a climate controlled environment. Prior to installation material should be stored in a climate controlled environment between 55-85 F (13-29C) degrees prior to installation. If needed allow the material to acclimate prior to installation for a period of 48 hours prior to installation. I like del prado, but it is a little too warm for me. Coule you suggest an alternative?
We highly suggest reviewing all room scenes, digital assets, reviewing store samples if available, and always order online samples available in board width x 11.75" Length on all Rigid Core Vinyl available for purchase on www.homedepot.com. Del Prado is in the Beige color Family, with brown undertones. Try French Oak Bidwell internet #318104232 or Lakeport internet #318104878.
The online colors don't show the true tone. Melrose looks much redder than it actually is. It's more brown tones. And the samples don't show the full-grain pattern. Maybe order a sample then look at the grain pattern online.
