Don't go by looks. These things are really tough. Hurricane Irma caused a tree limb at least 8 inches in diameter and 18 feet long to impact two of these vents on the back of my roof. Both were crushed. Only one leaked after the impact but not enough to destroy the ceiling with water. If I had the normal ridge vents and the same limb had hit them, I have no doubt That I would have had a huge long hole that would have ruined my house with water pouring in.
I will replace them with the same product.
