Q:Does this unit have a float control valve for continuous water supply? I've seen units like this that require the operator to manually fill the reservoir after depletion. I'd prefer to hook it up to a supply (Garden hose or 1/4" supply line) and a timer to operate.

A:  Hello JW, This unit is flexible and can use the built-in 10 gallon water reservoir or can be set up with a direct water line. It also contains a maintenance-free float valve.

Q:I am not very technically savvy and wonder if this unit could cool my 18,000sf, 2 story townhome. If it could, I wonder how I could install this? It would need to be on my patio and bring outside air in either from one of the windows, or sliding glass door, but leaving the door open would be a problem, as would the space left open on the tall windows. I wonder if (with HOA approval) it might it be possible to cut a hole in the outside wall from the patio and vent it into the townhome and also connect to the outside water supply?

A:  I would say this is way overkill for what you are trying to do. This is a huge unit. 5-1/2 feet tall by 5 feet wide. Most patio doors are 60" or 72" openings (both doors), one side being 30" or 36". You would lose half the width of the fan in blockage unless you took out both doors or cut a hole in the wall. I would not think you or your HOA would want that. You would be better off going with a ductless A/C unit similar to this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/MRCOOL-DIY-36-000-BTU-3-Ton-Ductless-Mini-Split-Air-Conditioner-and-Heat-Pump-230V-60Hz-DIY-36-HP-230A/207075124

A:  This particular unit has an effective spot cooling range of around 2,600 sq ft, so you most likely would only experience a cooling effect within that range. To help keep your house cool overall, look into whole house fans, or perhaps attic ventilation methods, such as a power attic ventilator. For spot cooling, pedestal fans and portable air circulators would be the way to go.

Excellent Product - Thankful to Have It
I heard an ad for USFanco on my talk radio station and when I heard they were in Mineral Wells, which is very close to where we live, I checked their site. My husband owns a custom metal fab business and has suffered through too many Texas summers with no cooling system in his shop. I heard the ad right before hubby’s birthday and Father’s Day, which were a week apart. Problem solved! This product makes summer so much more bearable and has allowed him to work longer and not have to stop too early when he’s extra busy. Great quality product and made in the USA!

After filters were soaked and it ran for 4-5 hrs the shop actually got warmer by a degree and ridiculously more humid. IMO it does not work in a already humid environment. NOTE: Home Depot uses a third party to ship this. Took 3 weeks to get it to my shop. Super disappointed after waiting to get it for it not to work as advertised. Maxxair CLAIM: "It can lower temperatures by up to 26° without the use of air conditioning." Not in my case. I would say they must have had a controlled environment to make that statement. Sorry for the bad review but my whole experience was a disappointment. Sent it back. The Good - My Local Home Depot store took it back no questions asked! This would have been a nightmare if I had ordered it on Amazon or through an online store. THANK YOU, THANK YOU Home Depot folks!!! Big fan (no pun intended)
