Product Details

Maxx Air Premium Series model is built to ventilate residential attic spaces up to 2,400 sq. ft. and is a great fit for situations in which roof-mounting is impractical. Constructed using a durable galvanized steel shroud in powder-coated blue finish, safety grille and powder-coated blades for added durability and to resist heat distortion and paired with a mounting system engineered to minimize vibration and ensure quiet operation. Install is straightforward using the included bracket hardware and requires no special tools to complete. The adjustable thermostat runs only when you need it, keeping your attic at a constant temperature while minimizing it's operation cost. This fan is designed to prolong the life of composition roof shingles by lowering summer attic temperatures and helps to protect attic insulation against mold and mildew in the winter by removing moisture-filled air. Install behind existing louvers or purchase our shutter model (CX2121AM) and swap your pre-wired thermostat for a thermostat/humidistat combo (XXDUOSTAT) for greater control.

Super product, all you need included
Maxx Air 1,600 CFM is a top of the line product and built to last years. You will find all you need enclosed, instructions, hardware and shrouded fan unit. Be sure to get a louver panel to install on the outside of the building. Also put one on the other gale end or some where so air will flow across the building, you don't want to create negative pressure. Primary purpose for my install was to keep the upper part of the inside building from getting hot and holding heat. Set the thermostat and walk away, the louver will open when the fan motor kick on. I have one in the attic and it works great to keep the attic from retaining heat.

Good value, easy installation, quiet and strong
This fan is quiet, moves a lot of air and is easy to install. The instructions are LARGE, well-written in standard English and easy to understand, even for a novice. It's quiet operation come from well-balanced blades. The main cause of noise from attic fans is vibration. If a fan vibrates the framing, that noise transmits throughout the house. By using these pressed steel blades, they automatically insure vibration is minimal because steel sheet is very uniform in thickness and weight. Steel is durable! I confirmed these blades are made from STEEL, with a magnet. If your installation requires the least possible noise, you can further reduce transmission by using vibration- dampening mounting-pads. I recommend that if your attic fan is near a bedroom. Using an anemometer, I measured the actual CFM to be slightly less than the specified 1600CFM. (I got 1545 CFM ) That measurement was taken in situ and my anemometer is not very accurate, so I am quite satisfied with that result. That's plenty to evacuate most residential attics. I took a photo of the INSIDE of the breakout box so you can see how simple it is. It is easy to open without tools because it just snaps into place. This includes a standard thermostat that uses very reliable bi-metallic strips to activate. That type of thermostat has proven reliability, even though they are not as accurate as high-quality digital thermostats. For this application, reliability and simplicity is the best engineering choice, so I like that too. You can always fiddle with the control knob to find the settings you want. The motor is plenty good enough for this application, but not great. The windings have no conformal coating at all and no filter to prevent dust contamination. The intake side of the impeller is exposed, so if you have curious kids who play in attics, you might want to install a protective screen too. Those are my only criticisms and they are a small issues considering the price. From my engineering perspective and long experience, I feel these fans will provide many years of reliable service. Overall, I think this is a good value for an important device. Attic fans can reduce air-conditioning bills! They can even cool your house by running them at night in off-peak hours when power is less expensive. You could spend a lot more for a fancy fan with digital-doohickeys, but would not get much more reliability or long-term value.

    Works Great
The fan is well made and the installation was fairly simple. It runs much quieter than I expected to and so far runs great. It does indeed move a lot of air so I will be installing a passive vent in my garage door to help the circulation. I chose to wall mount this unit in my garage because during the summer it gets hot as a oven until a door is open and most days stays closed all day. Now wishing I had installed this much sooner........

    Must have in hot weather!!!
Cooling down the attic with Maxx Air gable attic fan in extreme hot weather condition like Arizona is a must have installed in home. This fan is well designed to last for long time and features like anti vibration for quiet operation is great you don’t know when is running or stopped. It measures about 17” across and 10” depth, with a safety back grill to protect the motor while working. It uses only 4amps which is a money saver because requires less energy to work. It’s pre-wire from the motor to the thermostat and only requires to supply the energy connection. In my case I install it with a switch to active it in summer only. Does come with all hardware required for installation. The therapist is a great addition to the fan. it requires to be installed over a piece of wood before installation over the house. The blue color finished is perfectly balanced with the black of the motor and back grill protector which makes it more attractive. Has a good size and weight to handle while installing it.

Game changer . I should have installed this fan at the beginning of the summer. Does an excellent job, much cheaper than running the AC. Even when it’s over 90 outside my house stays between 75-80.
