A: max52, This Maytag refrigerator does have the potential to show fingerprints and smudges. There are some great cleaners out on the markets that significantly decrease the appearance, but is still possible. We do not offer a fingerprint and/or smudge free Stainless Steel at this time. Q:What is the clearance recommended for the back, sides and top of the fridge

A: Allow 1/2" of space on each side and on top. Allow 1" of space behind the refrigerator. If the product has a ice maker, allow extra space for the water lines and connections. When installing next to a fixed wall, leave no less than 2 1/2" on the hinge side.

Terrible service and product

Date: May 3, 2020 I am extremely disappointed with Maytag refrigerator , and horrified by their customer service team that i just spoke with. I purchased a French Door fridge on 11/10/2015 ( order number : 0167395019) for around $1800.00. After speaking with the representative she told me let her send technician comes to fix it but i have to pay $120 for service call . In the first sentence of the manual it says "10 years warranty" and "thank you for purchasing this high quality product", what makes it high quality? Why should i purchase a more expensive product based on a history of quality and service when first hand i am not witnessing either? Why would i consider purchasing a Maytag now, being i will have to buy an new refrigerator? So basically i spent $1800.00 on the unit, and $120 for the guys to look and they didn't fix anything ( because he asked me to pay $880 for fix it but I refused. ) In 4 years and 5 month i spent $1920 on a unit and it no longer works . I bought the house in Jan, 2005 and I used the same fridge that the old owner used up until in Oct, 2015. It's not brand name but it worked well (over 10 years) This certainly proves that Maytag has terrible quality in the refrigerators they make and the service they provide Stay away from this company! It is not what it used to be! Ha Le

Photos are misleading...

My wife and I loved every feature of this model, yet we chose this specifically for the aesthetics of having both left and right refrigerator doors of equal width. The photos online depicted this symmetry and the salesperson also confirmed. However, when the unit arrived, the right door was approximately 2" wider than the left. As our refrigerator was to be located underneath built-in cabinets of equal width, the offset opening of the refrigerator doors ruined the symmetry and we resolved to return the unit. In short, we loved this model; but, if symmetry is important, look elsewhere to save yourself a headache.

Never Again Maytag

Rust Rust Rust ... if you are looking for stainless steel do not buy these products. Surface rusts and Maytag says its not warranted. Lawsuit filed Maytag used lower quality stainless steel to save money.

Looks great in Vintage Kitchen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lucky to have found this model as it has been discontinued. It's the only Maytag refrigerator with a black cabinet that goes with my new Maytag double oven and with mounted microwave oven which also have black sides. In my Vintage kitchen of this 125 year old house, the sides of the appliances show, so that was important to me. Love the French door feature and bottom freezer, modern features but it looks great with mid-century décor. Light and bright inside! Easy to clean and even easier to see the food at eye level. I also love the accessibility of the crisper drawer. Very Happy with my choice!
