The Milwaukee Hole Dozer Hole Saw features Rip guard, the strongest tooth form in the industry, backed by the Rip guard limited lifetime tooth break warranty. Each tooth is built with more steel behind the cutting edge for added strength. The Rip Guard warranty on tooth breaks is a first for the hole saw industry. The added tooth strength along with 8% cobalt give added life to the teeth, allowing for increased productivity on the jobsite, as well as continued hole quality. The Hole Dozer includes Plug Jack, an all access slot design that allows for full access during plug removal. can this product cut through 2'' wood

can this product cut through 2'' wood
Asked by: kevin
Yes you can but it better not to do it at once. You need to cut about an inch deep, then with a chisel break off the 1 inch disk you made, then continue cutting the remaining with the hole tool. I hope that answers your question.

1-3/8 in. Hole Dozer Bi-Metal Hole Saw is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 1657.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hole Saw I've been using this hole saw to make a wine bottle holder. Of course, I'm not an expert, so I've made plenty of test runs using everything from MDF to poplar to common wood to pine. The cuts come out the same every time, although the real woods will require a little sanding afterward. (The MDF is smooth.) I've cut through various widths (1/4" to 1") without issue, and I've done it all with a drill press. I cannot attest for how this will work with a handheld drill, although I would think a steady hand well clamped wood would produce similar results. Note that, unless you already have one, you'll need to get the chuck for this too (around $15). The chuck fits all the Milwaukee hole saws from around 2"-6", so it's a one time purchase. (I have two other Milwaukee hole saws in different sizes and all use the same chuck.) If you need holes drilled, you've found the right tool. If you have to go smaller than 2" or so, get a forstner bit instead. For larger projects, this is your part.

I "invested" in this 6" hole saw out of desperation while failing to be able to cut clean 6" holes in a cornhole game I am making. New, high quality jig saw blades badly ripped the surface of the 3/4" plywood I was using. Had to lay out nearly $60 for this hole saw and arbor, and some of the reviews I read had me a bit concerned. But after reading some valuable advice on the internet and then cutting just one practice hole, I was able to cut two perfectly clean holes in some pretty finicky plywood. Two critical bits of advice: 1.) run the hole saw slowly and with your drill running in reverse for the initial cut, This very gently wears away the delicate outer layer of the plywood; 2.) before running the drill forward for the rest of the cut, switch your drill/driver to driver mode. The hole saw will invariably stall violently in the wood if your pressure isn't uniform, but in driver mode the drill will just ratchet harmlessly until you can reorient the hole saw to resume cutting, with no damage to the workpiece or your hands and arms. Have cut four holes in 3/4" plywood and the hole saw seems as sharp as when new.In my case this was a great investment.

This is a pretty aggressive hole saw so be careful when using it as it tends to bite and when it does, be prepared for a kickback on the drill. I'd suggest using a drill with a second hand hold. If not, try running the drill backwards, it will be slower but provides a very smooth cut.

Cuts great holes, however there was a problem. I don't know if that problem occurred because I was drilling into something too thick or if my arbor/drill was the source of the issue. I have been using it to drill holes in a 1.5 inch thick pine board and it did catch and stall some. Not sure why that was happening but it did ruin the arbor I was using. I now have a 3 inch hole saw stuck on an arbor that had the indexing posts. The bit was installed right and the index posts were used to steady the bit. The threads are mangled and unusable for any other hole saw, I will continue to use it as is. The attached pic now shows the bit and arbor reunited for the next time I need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cuts fast through multiple layers of materials. I had to... Cuts fast through multiple layers of materials. I had to drill 3 1/2" holes in an old commercial building wall, which consisted of T-111 siding, 1/2 fire rated brown gypsum, 1 1/2" DF blocking. It had no problem, and was deep enough to cut the blocking from the outside. Sometimes the cheaperhole saws are less than 1 1/2" deep, and so may required drilling from both sides. Try not to lityou hole saw get too hot. I think too much heat can oxidize the metal teeth and cause them to dull faster. Also, spray down with a rust preventative spray to keep bit from corroding after thefactory coating has been disturbed, which will always be the case once you start using the bit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Was hoping it would cut through wood and metal like... Was hoping it would cut through wood and metal like butter but it did not. I used a drill press and cut through 2x6 but it was slow going as blade kept catching on wood if I tried going too fast. Took almost 10 minutes to cut through 2x6. When cutting through thin sheet metal, it was no better.
