            good for site inspections
I got this for site inspections. The numbers are large so it photographs well. The tape isn't so fat that it is a pain to carry or put in pockets. I can use it while wearing gloves. Fractions of an inch are displayed as well as foot + inch increments.

I just got this item today. Upon opening it, a lot of the markings are almost completely faded and make it hard to read. The first place this starts is around the 3' mark, which is where a lot of measurements are needed.

This 2-piece Milwaukee kit (Model 48-22-1504) consists of the model 48-22-1502 knife and the model 48-22-1950 50-count package of utility blades in a storage and disposal case. The knife is a joy to use, with the easy-to-open flip action, effortless blade changing, and spare blade storage feature built into the handle. Up to five blades are held by a magnet in a holder that can accessed when the main blade is in the open position, and the holder is locked in place when the main blade is closed. The handle also includes a “rope cutter” slot that exposes a recessed portion of the blade approximately ¼” long, allowing thin rope, twine, and other narrow materials to be cut safely even while the knife is closed. The handle includes a lanyard hole and a belt clip. I only wish the belt clip were mounted on the “bottom” of the handle so the unit could be pulled from the belt and flipped open in one step using one hand. As it is the unit must be flipped end-over-end from it's position on the belt in order to grip the handle and engage the locking release button before the knife can be “flipped” open with a flick of the wrist. It's a minor issue on an otherwise perfect folding utility knife. I had one problem with the blade dispenser where the blade to be extracted kept catching on the semi-clear plastic housing and had to be worked free. I simply trimmed the soft plastic slightly and now the blade slides smoothly with gentle pressure from the thumb. See photo for details.

The Milwaukee FASTBACK Folding Utility Knife w/ Blade Storage & 50 pc. Utility Blade Set (2-Piece) is the best utility knife I have seen in years. Milwaukee took everything that was wrong with the traditional utility knife and made it better. Having the blade fold into the handle like a pocket knife ensures the cutting edge is stowed safely out of the way. No more accidental cuts caused by a blade that wasn't fully retracted. I have always found it frustrating to change the blade on a traditional utility knife. First you have to find a screwdriver to open the handle, then it can take several attempts to get the thumb-slide and blade to set, just right, before it will operate correctly. Milwaukee makes it simple to swap a blade in a matter of seconds, no tools required. They have added the convenience of one-handed opening, a gut hook for cutting string and twine without unfolding the blade, and a belt clip and lanyard loop so it is always at the ready. The included dispenser with 50 blades means I will be good to go for a long time. As with most things Milwaukee does, they got this right.

This utility knife has been one of the most useful tools I can have with me on my job. I don't go anywhere without having it on my belt. It's very well built, it's got a heavy duty belt clip so it won't get knocked off your belt and it's completely one handed usability. The knife has a built in storage for five blades and you don't have to disassemble it to change blades. A simple press of a button and the blade is released for replacement or to turn around to expose the other edge. It has a cutter built into the other end of the handle you can use for stripping wire or cutting any number of things with a protected blade. The knife also comes with a package of 50 replacement blades. I have two of them and keep one in my car at all times.

This Milwaukee utility knife and blade storage is a must have for the shop. The fastback folding action is a really nice feature. For me it's a must have. I have two little kids so I don't trust leaving the blade exposed and the simple button action that closes and opens it is a real time saver. The blades are ultra sharp and the storage makes sure you won't have to replace them for a long time.

Great folding utility knife. This can be safely opened and closed with one hand. It's comfortable to hold and use, but it a bit bulky in my pocket. I keep it on my tool belt or apron. I like the magnetic spare blade storage, and I really like the fact I can use this as a wire stripper. Blade changes are really easy. I also really like the blade set it came with. There is a a space to safely store the spent blades also

This is my favorite utility knife because it has so many helpful features. It’s not only compact, but has a press and flip design for one handed opening/closing, 5 blade storage, hanging loop, removable belt or pocket hook, and allows for quick, tool-free blade changes. The thin blade holder design on one side allows for easy scoring and while it wouldn’t be my first choice for the applications, the tool can be used as a wire stripper or twine cutter in a pinch. With the finger cutout on the metal handle, it’s comfortable to use and there’s no play in the blade. Sharp blades are key in any application, and this kit came with 50 blades and blade dispenser. The dispenser not only shows roughly how many blades are in the pack, but also allows for storing used blades for later disposal. I do want to point out that the second blade I pulled out had a chipped tip, which was a little disappointing, but luckily there are two sides to every blade. Overall this is another well made, well thought out Milwaukee tool.
