Mine got wet a few times, but just splashes of water. It still works just fine. (I did make sure it was thoroughly dry before putting it away.)
The multitool will allow you to use it in tighter areas you can’t get an oscillating saw into. The tool blades can be adjusted to multiple angles vs. the saw. There are times the saw is better, and times the tool is better. I have both but use the multitool more.
