Q:Can this be used to cut wood?

Answer This Question

A:  I am amazed that your group chose to answer this question by telling this poor soul all the things that the tool actually does, while like true politicians, you avoided actually giving him the answer, to his question, which was "does this cut wood"?

A:  Hi Adan! The cut off saw delivers fast and accurate cutting performance in a wide range of materials. The carbide abrasive wheel is recommended for cutting drywall, fiber cement, and plastic. The abrasive cut-off wheel is for cutting steel, stainless steel, and non ferrous materials. The diamond abrasive wheel is for use on tile and ceramics! - Milwaukee Tool Social Team

            Absolute Garbage
I purchased this last year and have used once or twice. Today i had to use it only for it to flash green.. Further research shows the heating element inside melted. What a waste of money. I have a lot of Milwaukee tools and this is not the level of quality i expected.

              Absolute garbage
Bought this for a small project, get it home and it won't heat up. No "flashing green lights" to say it's heating, and it doesn't heat. Perhaps it has something to do with the busted tip and these little white pieces that fell out when I went to change it out. TOTAL crap. Fire your QC people

The item functions great for about 1-2 minutes. Then it bogs to a miserable creep. 5 - 6 batteries later just to produce (2) 2x3 aluminum parts. Over heating perhaps a hand full of times. Otherwise cute tool

                Tool Great, Battery Connector Terrible
I've used this cutoff saw for more than 2 years. It's a great little tool that works very well on sheet metal, tiles and thin masonry. My only gripe is, and it's a big one, is the design of the release mechanism to remove the battery case from the tool's handle. Pinching 2 stiff plastic cutouts on the battery case, see photos, should move locking tabs inside the tool handle. It's a poorly-designed setup that requires a lot of pinching force, and it often fails.

                  They re-designed the collar/crown.
Looks like they redesigned the collar/crown from the previous generation. Hopefully this stops the melting issue. I saw this was a newer model and decided to give it a try.

                    Almost great
First let me start off by saying I'm a huge fan of Milwaukee M18 fuel tools. Being that I'm only going to be using this to cut drywall, M12 platform was not a bad option. When I attempted to install my first blade, I realized after removing the bolt, the arbor plate had to be pried off. This was due to the arbor end, being mushroomed from the factory. I cleaned it up with lapping paper. After about 10 minutes, the blades would fit onto the arbor. 😐

Hopefully this one will last longer than my last one probably only got 3-4 years out of it. It obviously works well or I would not repurchase product again.

Unbelievable that this product is still being sold
Same issue that everyone is posting about. Cullet melted resulting in total failure. Not only is it unsafe , but it’s incredibly easy from a design standpoint to foresee how this would happen. I don’t understand how there hasn’t been a update to this tool with metal parts , especially at the price. It’s an awesome tool before this problem, what a shame

Bought this to replace my butane soldering iron. For working behind aircraft instrument panels with limited access it works great. Heats up fast, the angle head is a nice feature for tight areas. Replaced a couple of rotary dimming light switches using a CP2.0 battery. Would recommend the CP3.0 battery. Like a butane iron you turn it on, perform your soldering and turn it off. No dragging a electrical cords or taking a chance of burning something with the butane exhaust.
