About This Product

The MILWAUKEE M18 FORCE LOGIC Press Tool with ONE-KEY with 1/2"-2" Copper Press Jaws is the industry's first press tool with remote tracking, management, and lockout and is the smallest, most intelligent press tool on the market. The state-of-the-art press tool features an in-line design and brushless motor, enabling more run-time per charge and faster cycle times while being significantly smaller and nearly 20% lighter than the leading competitor. Like all Milwaukee press tools, the in-line design with a forward hand position unlocks the user's ability to press with one hand and will fit nearly anywhere they can fit their arm. Equipped with REDLINK electronics, the cordless press tool also provides the highest level of press accuracy and reliability available in the industry. Auto-cycle ensures a full press every time and the pre-press battery check prevents the tool from starting a press it can't complete. This press tool is ONE-KEY enabled, logging, and uploading data from every press for retrieval via the ONE-KEY desktop or mobile app. This allows for performance monitoring and provides users peace of mind in quality connections. With Ā½" to 4" capacity and compatibility with over 20 unique fitting systems, the plumbing press tool is a comprehensive press solution for plumbers and mechanical contractors. In addition to the press tool, this kit includes two M18 REDLITHIUM CP2.0 battery packs, 1/2 in., 3/4 in., 1 in., 1 1/4 in, 1 1/2 in., and 2 in. jaws, and a carrying case.

                  Love this press kit
This is the first Pro Press kit Iā€™ve bought for myself, Iā€™ve used the M12 and the older version M18 when I worked for a big company. I love how u can use the one key app to track the tool and lock it out. With 1/2ā€-2ā€ jaws the takes care of my needs. Also allot of good expansion packs for this kit.

                    This kit is a monster!!
Milwaukee's M18 Force Logic Press Tool with ONE KEY is an amazing tool that is a game changer for me when it comes to doing plumbing jobs. The kit comes with the press tool, two 2.0 batteries and charger, and CTS jaws for 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1. 1/2", and 2" copper pipe. The tool features an in-line design which allows for easy one handed use and allows for you to press in spaces about the length of your arm. With a brushless motor you get more runtime per charge and faster cycle times at around 4 seconds per cycle. Auto-cycle ensures a full press every time and the tool also has a pre-press battery check to make sure you are able to complete the press. The press tool can handle presses up to 4" (press rings sold in a separate kit), and is compatible with over 20 different fitting systems. With ONE KEY you have means to be able to protect your investment. First off the kit is expensive and for the price I feel like you get your moneys worth in just the hardware. In terms of money that you save from having this tool, it's an investment that never stops paying. In general the press tool has cut down my work time by around 80%. No more torches, flux, and soldering ever again. I use Viega fittings for this tool and I have yet to have a bad press in the past year of using the this tool. Being able to press copper when it's wet is also a huge plus to having this press tool. I have already used the tool in many emergency situations for friends and neighbors that had a ruptured pipe. Not having to deal with getting hot permits on a job is a huge burden off my shoulders. Huge time saver which means more money. I am able to work on a job way more efficiently and the amount of time to finish the job is drastically reduced when you use the press tool. The trade off with pressing copper is that press fittings are more expensive, in some cases 4 times more expensive. In the bigger picture I end up making more money pressing copper even though the fittings are more expensive, with less wear and tear on your body from running copper the old fashioned way. To me the investment is a no brainer. Having ONE KEY to be able to protect and track my investment is always an advantage. This is a must have tool for all plumbers and I can't see myself going back to the old way of sweating pipes.

Get past the initial cost. Because the time that you and you crews will save is far beyond that initial investment and fittings costs. No propane, flux or hot permits means time and money saved. No hot permits saves money and allows your teams to work right along other contractors. Wet line repairs are no problem whatsoever. This tool with these fitting combined allow you to repair lines that are wet. And rest assure these crimps will make you sleep well at night. Now, as far as accessā€¦my experience wasnā€™t an issue. Anywhere I can get my forearm this tool works great. Even for those distant fittings you must reach out for, it performs. Our business seems to revolve primarily around copper. However, more and more of our jobs are moving towards PEX, no surprise there. And that is no problem, Milwaukee offers heads for this Force Logics press tool that will crimp copper PEX rings for PEX applications and heads for iron and stainless. You can purchase the dies individually or in sets. We will be soon investing in die kits for those PEX applications. And finally, ONE-KEY. This tool is equipped with Milwaukeeā€™s ONE-KEY Technology. Simply download the application to your phone or tablet and make sure that your lead-hand does the same. Checkout any of your ONE-KEY tools to your lead hands again, via the application and now you can manage and track your assets from both your job-site or from the office. You can even print the data. Folks this tool is a clear winner for our business. We will add additional press Tools to our other cruise very soon. We will also be investing in the other head kits for the various applications that we serve. The M18 Force Logic press tool kit is a must-have for plumbers and HVAC service technicians. This tool allows for the joining of copper pipes and fittings without the use of extreme heat to sweat (solder) the joint. This kit comes with jaws for the most common pipe sizes: 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/12" and 2" jaws plus a standard charger (for M12 and M18 batteries) and 2 X 2 amp hour M18 batteries. The tool itself is a very manageable weight - although not light if working overhead - and the shape of the handle with a finger loop provides a solid grip for working in awkward angles as is frequently the case. The jaws have a relatively low profile that will allow access to tight spaces, but does require some clearance, which prevents this from being used in all situations. The press has plenty of power for even the largest fittings and with the brushless motor, the battery life provides enough run time for most jobs - even with the small 2 amp hour batteries. I discovered that with extreme cold (-10*F) this tool does still operate, though much more slowly than usual. The jaws positively lock into place with an easy to operate retained lock pin that slides through the jaws effortlessly, making for quick press die changes. The jaws smoothly pivot open to accept fittings and the pressing action is quick and indicator lights on the trigger/switch show completed cycles for confirmed presses. Overall a great tool.

This press tool is extremely easy to use! I loved that I was able to work on copper piping without using a hot torch. Had several joints near and around live wiring and receptacles. Even repaired a pipe that was still leaking by. The press tool is light enough to be used one handed. I have done several water line repairs and even a low pressure (150 PSI) air line system in a garage. I used PEX tools and fittings in houses with PEX and copper in houses with copper. Only downfall is that I have to preorder fittings ahead of time because HomeDepot is not currently stocking them in the store but l must admit that they very easily available through the HomeDepot website. I VOTE YES!!!! on this tool and press system. A total time saver. No more need to buy and store brazing flammable gas cylinders.

Can you still be a plumber without owning this tool? I doubt once you do 2 joints that you'll ever go back to sweating. We all know sweating is ideal in ideal conditions. Well, this tool changes everything. It does make a perfect joint every time, with prep time of just deburring the pipe ends, inside and out. You need to debur outside as well so that edges don't snag on the O-ring in the fitting. They say you don't even need to clean the pipe, but I am accustomed to cleaning them anyways. Also, you don't need a true perpendicular cut like you need on a push-to-connect fittings. There are so many advantages to this tool that I can't even list them all and the tool is so versatile, so that most business will not be able to utilize its full potential. You can work on an emergency job with water flowing full blast. As long as you keep the tool out of the water flow, it will make a perfect joint in a matter of seconds. This tool can reach where you can't even dream about using torch. The tool is straight and it needs just a 1/4 inch to get it to the joint and crimp. Working on piping in laboratories, medical facilities and hospitals having oxygen lines, you can't really sweat and solder any connections, so this tool becomes the only solution where you can comfortably provide service warranty. Compared to the 1st generation m-12 pex crimper, this second generation has the brushless motor which produces 7,200 lbs. of crimping pressure with a fraction of the energy needed, ensuring that you can make more joints on a single charge. About 45 1/2" joints brought the battery indicator to 1/2 charge left. Weight of the tool is manageable, 6 lbs. with battery and 1/2" jaw is about a pound. The designer's goal was that it can be operated with one hand, while holding an element of the connection with the other. It is just not possible to make a bad connection with this tool as long as you seat the fitting correctly and crimp at the ridge. Every time, effortlessly, it would make a consistent and perfect connection. Fittings are more expensive than regular ones and are not universal, there are three O-ring alternatives: EPDM, HNBR and FKM for various applications. All have superb heat resistance characteristics and proven aging deterioration tests that outlast 50 years. They may be more expensive, but this is where the industry is going - towards a platform for various applications providing better connections, made faster, simpler and more mechanically reliable. The tool is possible to press fit connections also on black iron, stainless steel and pex connections. You need crimping jaws for those pipes and they are readily available with Milwaukee. The big question is, although compatible with over 13 unique fitting jaw systems when there would be jaws available from Milwaukee for the ACR copper pipes to work on press connections such as zoomlock or others. This is long awaited and would be another advantage of this tool that would open its usage to the HVACR world by eliminating the problems associated with annealing the copper line and removing the need of nitrogen purging while brazing. If you could crimp, pull vacuum and charge, without the need of a 3rd party jaws it would be great. I really hope this is where Milwaukee is going in the future. The tool also has a 2 LEDs focusing on the jaws which is a nice and really useful feature, the light works with a 1/2 press of the button. Full press triggers full cycle of the press tool and there is no possibility to short-cycle the process. The tool has ONE-KEY functionality that shows number of connections done, timing, project, etc. and it is very functional in documenting work done. Although it is a great tool with unparalleled quality of craftsmanship, materials used, design and manufacturing, one must admit that the price is prohibitive to naked eye, without realizing that this tool is the difference between an 8-hour job of re-piping a SFR and 1.5-hour job. I think it is a must have tool for professional plumbers and general contractors, that would pay for itself in just a few jobs.

When I saw the shipping information for this kit I was surprised to see it weighed over 50lbs, everywhere mentions the tools weight of only 6lbs however the jaws each weight 4-6lbs so the total kit with case is over 50lbs. This kit is absolutely massive, making the packout organizers I immediately set it on look small. Once opened I was greeted by a very organized setup within the case, each jaw has its place, the charger, and 1 battery while the tools slot can fit the tool with a battery attached with ease. Upon removing the tool from the case you will find that the jaws install very easily by simply pulling a large pin on the front of the tool outward, slide the jaw in then push the pin in. From there you simply place the jaw around the copper press fitting aligning the jaw with bead that protrudes on the fitting. Pressing and holding the button immediately begins pressing the copper, and within seconds you have a well pressed copper fitting that didn't require any torch. This tool also supports jaws for PEX to which I need to order the 1/2" to replace all the outdated and brittle plumbing of my mothers house. That said this tool is very easy to use, well built, and while a bit on the bulky side not too heavy when actually using just the tool and a single jaw. Overall I would highly recommend this tool for those working with copper press fittings or even a lot of PEX in not so tight spaces, like the underside of a house or a commercial installation.
