A:  Terrific light - have used extensively and would buy again - but mine is the older model and does not have some of the features on new ones - no wireless.

        by|Apr 14, 2020

A:  Mine certainly is not wireless. It is however cordless because it runs on an 18 volt battery or you can use an AC extension cord.

A:  The batteries slides into the top of the receiver where the contacts are located. Smaller M18 18-volt batteries leave a gap below the battery. It will accept any Milwaukee M18 18-Volt battery size.

                  Upper Michgan Houghton County Flood
Please forward this to Milwaukee tool CEO. Milwaukee tool donated MANY ITEMS to Houghton County Michigan flood disaster. Many basements were FILLED with mud slide rock and peanut butter mud. They are filling buckets by hand shovel and bucket brigading them out to front end loaders and skid steer. These lights were SO helpful in the basements and likely saved us from injury several times. The basements were old from the Copper Country mining boom of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Donates battery powered recip saw was a life saver as well. The U.P. of MI loves you Milwaukee tool! I will only buy Milwaukee tools for the rest of my life.

Super bright and durable with dim control
This isn’t your average lantern or old school work light. For a lantern style, battery operated light, this thing is as bright as the sun. Well, not that bright, but bright enough to illuminate an entire room. It’s hard to tell from my picture, but it is brighter than it looks. I had to paint a few rooms that had no lights. So instead of hauling big lights and carrying them from room to room, this compact light did the trick. It’s brighter then a regular stand up 3 bulb light (3x 60W equivalent) and produces a nice color that isn’t too cool nor yellow (around 3500K). There are 3 brightness settings: Low, Medium & High and 2 side settings which allow the LEDs to only light up on one side: Left or Right. The top LEDs always remain lit. When fully lit, the light evenly spreads 360 degrees which helps minimize shadows. There are two electrical sources. It can run on an M18 battery, which I have not tried yet to the full extent. My battery wasn’t fully charged and I need the light for a long time so I plugged it in - which is the other source. There is a low battery indicator which makes the LEDs blink when the battery is getting drained. There are two opposite 3-prong outlets on this light: one plug is to plug it in and the other is a pass through to connect another same type lights. It allows up to 10 of these to be connected together. The outlet covers are spring loaded and rubberized inside to keep out water and dust. Durability is top notch. The entire light is made of super durable plastic that shouldn’t crack if it’s dropped or something falls on top of it. The heavy-duty handle is very well made, folds flat and clicks in. The light can be placed on the floor or hung up-side-down from the ceiling, pipe or beam. There is a heavy duty metal hook (folds flat) on the bottom which has two hanging positions exposing a small or a large hook for different hanging applications. Very well thought of! I’d say that the overall built quality is like a tank and considering the brightness and options it justifies the price. There’s a steel security cable provided which can be looped through the light’s handle or metal hook to secure it to a structure to prevent theft. However a lock would still be needed. Although it may seem a bit expensive, it is a true quality tool. It has the right features and durability for any task from basic household needs to a construction project. It’s very handy in smaller spaces where big lights just don’t fit. It provides and insane amount of light from such a compact device. I wish it had the option to act as a charger and charge the battery while plugged-in into an electrical outlet. Perhaps in the next upgraded model. Overall, I am very happy with the design and performance of this LED light.

Incredibly bright, super heavy duty, convenient large area work light
The first impression I had when I pulled the Radius Site Light out of the box was that it was surprisingly heavy. It weighs about 10 pounds without battery and feels rock solid. The plastic material used for the base is extremely thick and very hard (the base plastic material is marked as PA66-GF25-FR). I saw a Milwaukee demonstration video showing how they put extra design into making this light very rugged and impact resistant, and it shows--this light is a tank. The light is very bright--4400 lumens, which is incredible. Because the light is covering 360 degrees plus the top of the light, it doesn't appear as intense as a focused beam light, but it is putting out a TON of light. I can't look at the light when it is turned on high--it's just too bright. It can provide very usable light throughout my 25'x22' garage. The light has three rubber buttons above the battery: on/off, brightness (3 levels), and front/back--which allows you to have both sides illuminated, or only one of the two sides illuminated. It has a comfortable carry handle attached to the top, and a stainless steel hook that folds out from the bottom for hanging it upside down at a site. The light worked perfectly with an M18 XC 5.0 battery. One convenient feature is that it can be powered by an AC extension cord, and you can daisy chain multiple lights, as it has both male and female plugs. The three main pieces of the light have gaskets between them to provide water resistance, and each screw hole has double gaskets. It is rated IP54, which is dust protected and splash protected. I haven't seen any other consumer tool company offering a similar job site light, so this Milwaukee model seems like a unique product that fills a need. I have smaller hand-held battery powered LED lights for lighting small areas, but the Milwaukee job site lights are great for lighting up work areas. I'm very impressed. If you are considering this light, you might want to also look at the Milwaukee Rocket Stand lights. I have a Rocket Stand Light and love it, so it may be tough to choose between the two. The stand light provides an elevated light source and a more focused light, but it is much larger, is about 15 lbs and is not water resistant. If you need 365 degree lighting in an open area or want a compact but very bright heavy duty light with water resistance, this Site Light is a great choice.

Powerful light source for the work site
Milwaukee M18 18-Volt Radius LED Compact Site Light is one powerful light source. Its versatile and sturdy, can take a knock on the job. It comes with a carrying handle on top and and another hook system in the base to put it upside down on a wall hook or tie it to a pipe or beam. A security cable is included. This light's design give you 360 degree illumination! It has panels on all sides and another light panel on the top! The light runs cool and you avoid those problems with halogen lights that run hot and can be dangerous. If you've ever burned yourself with a halogen lamp you know the advantages of a cool light. A work light isn't practical if their isn't enough of it and this one is rated at 4,000 lumens which is more than a 250 watt halogen. That's bright enough to light up a room. It has three light settings from high to low which saves the battery for all day use when set at low. It also has an AC cord outlet for an extension to an outlet and can be daisy chained with others to form a string of lighting at the work site. Now, for all that are going to ask, no the cord doesn't charge the M18 battery, go figure? What I noticed with this light immediately was the convenience of it all. It sets up fast, just put it down or hang it. You are not carrying around an extension cord and a string of lights for the illumination that this one throws out. All my tools are cordless so the electrical cord was always carried because of the lighting issue. Not having a cord on the floor is another plus. In the end the real issue has to be what is cordless portability worth? This is a pricey light and where you don't want the hassle of a cord to take to a job site or don't have electricity this work's nicely. I see it for those who want something to drop down and get to work fast avoiding the hassle factor. For that purpose its really a great portable light.

4400 lumens, linkable, AC or battery powered. Amazing!
Milwaukee LED compact site light puts out a very bright 4400 lumens on high. This light has 3 light modes, high, medium and low. It also can put out light in 180 degrees or 360 degrees. The top of the light is always outputting light. This light can operate off any of Milwaukee's M18 battery line, including the new 9 Ah battery, it also can be powered by 120 VAC from an extension cord. It also has an electrical cord plug in so you can chain up to 10 of these lights together to light up a job site. It has a great handle that can take abuse as well as a self centering hook on the bottom that can hang the light upside down to light up more work area and not be in the way on the ground. It also comes with a cable so it can be locked to a beam or something else to keep it from being stolen. As the output is high at 4400 lumens, I recommend a 5.0 Ah battery or the new 9 Ah battery. I ran this with the new 9 Ah battery for a few hours and the battery was still showing all battery bars. This light is fantastic, just like all Milwaukee tools.

                    Awesome job light
This light is great. It takes the place of a dozen trouble light outputs and the convenience of a battery powered drill. This light is incredibly bright. On max output mode, if you look straight into it, it will give you floaters. Overall, sturdy construction. It does have some weight to it, and it feels sturdy, but nothing unmanageable. Adding in a larger 5.0AH battery makes it much heavier. This light is built to last a long time. When on max output, it puts out little heat, so it can run for a long time without issues. It lights up a room much better than your traditional jobsite light, with many advantages. Like your typical jobsite light, this light can plug in to standard 120V power via an extension cord, and it also serves as a through put, so you can plug into the light as well. This prevents the light from completely hogging an outlet, which can be very valuable in some situations, and also lets the light serve as part of an extension cord, so that you have to stretch fewer out. This is a nice feature to be included. Since this is an M18 tool, it can also be powered off of the M18 batteries, and it performs just as well as being plugged in. It gets great battery life when running this way. I did not clock how long it takes to drain, but on full blast with a 5.0 AH battery, one hour did not lose one part of the battery meter. The light has three controls. A master power, to turn the light on and off. A dimmable light level button, to change between light level outputs. A zone control, to switch between all on, front/top on, back/top on. This is useful in scenarios where you don't need the entire light at full blast, and helps cater the tool to your scenario. The bottom side of the light has a self-centering hanger, that allows you to hang the light from a well supported pipe or other overhead item. This allows the light to be hung up in a room like a traditional finish light fixture. Most jobsite lights arent capable of this because they dont have the feature, but are also huge and heavy. This light is light enough the it will easily hang from any well supported pipe. I really wish that I could have gotten a good picture to show how bright this thing is, and how well it lights up a room, but any picture that I took just turned into a giant white blob. The LEDs have enough output that the camera lens is not physically capable of compensating, no matter how much time I give the light. Overall, an awesome tool to put in your repertoire, especially if invested into the M18 line already. Super happy to have this light, and it is an everyday tool for me now. It is so compact and easy to take, and you never know when you'll need it. Makes electrical work easy when you need to cut power to lights / rooms.

                    Awesome Light!
This is an amazing light. The first thing you will notice is how heavy it is. Almost 11 pounds out of the box without a battery, over 12 pounds with a battery (5 ah). In the box there is the light and a security cable. Batteries are separate. It is super bright. It really lights up a whole room using Milwaukee's TrueView LEDs that provide natural looking light. You can let it sit on its base, or hang it from its self centering metal hook that folds into the bottom of the light. With a 5 AH Battery, I observed 2hr 4min on High, 4hr 3min on Medium, and 8 hr 23 min on the low setting. With a 4 AH battery, I observed 1hr 35 min on High, and 3hr 34 minutes on low. One feature I really like is that it blinks when the battery is low so you have a chance to change it before you are left in the dark of an attic (or where ever). There is 180 degree and 360 degree light control, which allows you to turn off the LEDs on one side of the lamp, but leave the top and other side on. If you run the lamp on 180 degree setting you can extend the battery life from 2 hours on high to 3 hours and 19 minutes. The lamp has the ability to run off of AC power as well as battery. It has an 11 amp rated outlet on the other side giving you the ability to string 11 more of these together if you have that kind of budget. The only ding against this light is the price, and it is a pretty big ding.
