About This Product

The MILWAUKEE M18 FUEL 21 Degree Framing Nailer sets the new standard for cordless framing nailers. By leveraging a nitrogen spring mechanism, POWERSTATE brushless motor, and REDLINK Intelligence, this nailer provides users with pneumatic performance and the convenience and freedom of cordless power. Delivering the power to sink full round head nails into dense engineered lumbers, this framing nailer enables users to tackle even the most demanding framing applications. To keep users productive and efficient throughout the day, the framing gun fires 3 nails per second with zero ramp-up time, meaning a nail is fired as soon as the user pulls the trigger. Additionally, the cordless framing nailer operates using only Milwaukee's REDLITHIUM Batteries (not included) and sealed compressed nitrogen to drive each nail, completely eliminating the cost of gas cartridges and maintenance associated with competitors' nailers. The M18 FUEL 21 Degree Framing Nailer delivers the pneumatic performance and durability that professional carpenters and remodelers expect, without the hassle of a compressor and hose or gas cartridge.

Is there a modification to this nailer, or is there another nailer which can properly drive a 1.5", thick shank nail into joist hangers. I don't know the exact size of the shank, but a framer I knew seemed to regard the nails he used as about 20d.

Can I use it for finished too and not just rough in

              Answer This Question

This is a framing nailer that drives 6p to 10p framing nails. Milwaukee makes a battery powered 18ga. Nail gun that would be better suited for finish work.

                      Steady and safe!
I’ve been using this nail gun for a few months. I use this to hand wood supports up on studs to put up electrical panels. This does the job very well. Great impact with minimal kick back. It has a nice weight to it and has a lot of hanging options so you don’t always have to hold it. I would highly recommend this product to others.

I bought this nailer as we were building a shed in the backyard and wanted to save time hammering. Shoots 2.5-3.5 inch nails without issue. The depth adjuster took a while to calibrate as it was shooting through the t1-11 siding but over time was able to seat the nails flush. The nailer made the job so much easier as installing the gables and joist for the roof would have been difficult to hammer in.
