Q:It does not appear that one can release the blade left-handed. Am I missing something or is it just unsuitable for a southpaw?

    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  You can use either hand. To use the blade southpaw you will need to use your index finger instead of your thumb

Q:What is the "gut hook" for?

      Answer This Question

A:  The gut hook is used for butchering wild or domestic animals, for cutting through the hide and intestines.

A:  It's really used for cutting a string or thin rope in a fast way ( you don't have to unfold the knife). I also use it to strip off electric wiring.

A:  I think they meant to say ?cut hook?. It can be used to cut small rope, cardboard, or whatever, without opening the knife. It?s the safest way to use a knife to prevent cut fingers or hands, as long as the material will fit inside of the hook.

            Dull cutter edge
The cutter edge gets dull easily after cutting some wires of ballast

              Knife does not close
The knife won't close. It seems to be misaligned a bit and keeps hitting the side of the casing. Can hear sound of metal hitting metal.

My son bought this as a replacement for the one he lost then he found the one he lost put it back in his pocket and gave me this one. It’s an awesome blade. Is it open when you need it fast easy close and the blade storage is awesome.

I've owned mine for more than a year of DIY remodeling. Not a heavy user. I only cut copper with any strippers I own never nails or ferrous materials. Through basic wiring tasks, the cutters have become marred. I'm not sure that HD reviews are representative of the product as Milwaukee's site doesn't have the same glowing and overwhelmingly positive reviews of them. They're rate 3.2 out of 5 stars. Most reviewers on their site mirror my experience with these pliers.

The company finally developed a better back clip for the knives, have not used while working but it feels and seems strong like it will hold up well and not snap when moving around in tight work area I.E. on the dock floor of an LTL truck logistics compan
I feel this box cutter will work well, but have not tested physically, it holds five blades now as opposed to the very first one which only held three

                    Worst tape you can buy.
This is not a good tool. I love Milwaukee power tools, they are a good company, but this is not a good tape measure. Stick with your Stanley FATMAX or chrome. The standout is not 12’. Both tales warped and had a 5’ stand out after a few weeks. Not to mention it has fractions printed on it. Good for a home owner at best.

Perfect tool for DIY and professional work.
Excellent multitool for electrical work, at affordable price. This is my first Milwaukee tool and I am impressed with the quality for this price.

Very nice but a couple concerns
The cutting blades are surprisingly soft. Tried cutting a flag stake and damaged the blade. The gauge labels could be made more visible. The light/dark printing is kind of a good idea but still there should be a better solution.
