These caps are of sturdy metal construction. I ordered several caps and about half arrived with small scratches down to the bare metal. They are shipped with a very thin clear plastic covering which allows them to rub against each other. Also, the cap is not exactly square. The ID is approx. 5 3/8 inches x 5 5/8 inches. I was able to squeeze them into a square with some clamps which added time to the project.

fit my post pirfect with the tabs on it i put on it has a snuge fit dont think it will come off

Description stated that it was 6" x 6" but the sized is really 5 3/4" x 5 3/8" and would not fit over my post. Had to return to Home Depot and order the post caps from another company.

NOT 6x6
These do not fit a 6x6 post. They are actually 5 3/4 with rounded corners so they don’t fit down over a 6x6 post properly at all. Home Depot needs to change this description as it is wrong.

BIG PAIN IN THE BUTT TO RETURN AND REORDER.
