These brackets are an excellent idea! I found them while looking for "gingerbread details" for my porch. I love that they are made of PVC material as opposed to wood. The PVC will not absorb moisture, will not rot and can even be painted if you want too. They were super easy to install since they come with two pre drilled holes and stainless steel screws. The only thing I would change is adding an additional size, maybe 12in? I only saw 16 inch and 9.5 inch. The 16 is a bit bigger than I would like, but still looks awesome!

I bought this as an accent to our front porch and what an absolutely ideal addition this was. My wife loves Oceans displays and this was such a subtle yet interesting little touch. The mounting was easy enough and this had it's own hardware it was up in seconds.
