About This Product

NeatHeat baseboard front cover is made of polymer and the end caps are ABS plastic. They are melt proof until approximately 460°F. You can save yourself up to USD 75 per hour in labor plus the cost of material by installing NeatHeat instead of having a plumber install new baseboard throughout your home. You can install NeatHeat throughout the entire property in less time and without specials tools as it snaps on over the existing baseboard heater. NeatHeat will never rust or need replacing. It doesn't have any sharp edges and helps protect against children's and grandchildren's fingers touching the sharp fins inside. Check the How To Measure For NeatHeat guide below to make sure your individual baseboard heaters are the correct size for NeatHeat. Common brands include Slant Fin series 15, 30 and 2000, Sterling series petite 7, Suntech, and Weil Mclain, however there are also many lesser know brand names so it is always best to check your specific measurements.

  • End caps sold separately
  • Made of polymer that is melt-proof until approximately 460°F
  • Can be cleaned using common household cleaners
  • Not intended for use with electric baseboard heat
  • Note: if the measurement is greater than 6 ft. (72 in.) L, you will need to install more than 1 length of NeatHeat joined with optional splice part

Q:Chris, not a question; instead a comment. Your answers are fantastic; well written, clear, comprehensive, and accurate. I've never felt compelled to respond to Q&A's before, but did so now after reading your replies. Very helpful.

A:  Thank You that is extremely kind. I am 57 and have worked at a plumbing supply house since I was 6. aka family business. During my career I have learned it is best never to make assumptions about the parties plumbing acumen. That holds true even for experienced plumbers. You assume nothing and try to be very specific and unambiguous. If you are not, you will be misunderstood and can very easily make the problem worse. My family began providing products to Home Depot in 1993. They are demanding and set high expectations. But always fair and honest. Doing business with them has been the highlight of my professional life. It is because of this relationship that I take great care in answering these questions and helping them help America. Thanks Again. Chris

Q:Can you put it on a oil furnace base board?
    by|Feb 7, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Sorry I don’t mean to be flippant, but I want to be very specific to limit possible misunderstandings. A furnace is used in a hot air system where you have ductwork and grills. Therefore, I will assume you are referring to a boiler. A boiler heats water and is used with baseboard. A boiler heats water typically to 180 F. The temperature used in a forced hot water heating system is not predicated on the fuel type. The boiler could run on oil, natural gas, propane, electricity and would still be set to make water that has a specific temperature. Therefore, the fuel type should not matter.

Q:Is it safe to use pvc cover for baseboard heating ?
      by|Feb 1, 2024
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  I am sorry but based on your question I am not exactly sure why you would suspect it would be unsafe, so I am uncertain of what specific concern I should address. Therefore, I will assume you are concerned about it either melting or off gassing. Hydronic heating systems use forced hot water that is piped through the copper tube in the center of the element. That water typically has a maximum operating temperature of 180F but even if the system runs wild the water cannot realistically reach a temperature of over 220 F. The fact that water, as a liquid, can transmit greater volumes of heat at lower temperatures than air is why hydronics is more comfortable and used in colder climates where greater capacities are required. As a result of the low system temperature, the air exiting the baseboard and the temperature of the enclosure is typically 110 F. In a situation where the baseboard vents are completely blocked you would not reach a temperature of over 180F. That temperature is significantly below the melt and ignition temperature of PVC poly vinyl chloride. PVC has been the dominant material used in drainpipe and fittings for 50 years. People will frequently pour boiling water down the drain, and it will not melt or distort the drain lines. However, as noted you would not want to use this product on electric baseboard, it is only intended to be used on forced hot water heating systems. Electric heating elements can reach temperatures of more than 550 F. Electric heaters and heating elements should never be used in conjunction with combustible materials due to their intensity.

I was very happy with this purchase. I ended up buying 5 and will probably buy more. These look nice, are easy to work with (hack saw) and saved me a lot of money.

          Easy DIY
I bought this to replace the ugly metal one that was probably 30 yrs old. The area is small but it made a world of difference cosmetically. They didn’t have the 3ft so I bought the 4ft and my husband cut it to fit.. I love it. Hoping to replace more throughout the house.

            does not fit
I surely wasted my money. This product does not fit over the complete unit. I had to leave on the old rusty cover in order to cover up the heating grill. If I did not cover it you would see a portion of the radiator showing at the bottom I will try to upload pictures. And you have to be a strong person and have a special pair of scissors to cut that plastic, it's extremely hard to cut.  I also had to go to the hardware store to buy a pair of scissors that were made to cut through this kind of product, that cost $22. You will not be able to cut it with scissors from your home very misleading video.   If I hadn't already cut the plastic I would have definitely shipped it back. In my picture you will see that I had to leave on the original cover which is rusty so you would not be able to see the radiator showing.

              Blocks heat
I'm a licensed contractor for almost 20 years. I put these in my house because my 15 month old son started putting his fingers in the old metal covers. For that purpose these covers are 5 star. But the issue is they block the heat from coming out and cause my boiler to run much more often

                DOES NOT HOLD ITS SHAPE
I was very disappointed in this baseboard. We ended spending several hundreds of dollars for this material. Within a year it was falling off the wall. I had to hide it as best as possible behind furniture to keep it in place. Now I had to spend a thousand dollars to replace it with the metal. Unfortunate that a product for over heat can't keep its shape with heat.

                  Does not hold its shape
Thought this was going to be a great fix for the metal. WRONG ! I just had to replace all of this because it does not hold its shape. Then it just keeps falling off. Total waste of money!!!e

                    SO EASY!
I repainted my living room and really didn’t want to paint my (previously painted and pretty banged up) baseboard heaters to match. I gave this product a shot and was really pleased with how easy they were to install and what a difference the results make! My room has corners that are >90 degree angles so I couldn’t use the 90 degree corner connectors, but a regular splice plate worked as an improvised solution. Highly recommend!

As advertised, it was easy to assemble. Great pre-buying directions about measuring to make sure the product will work for your application and great instructions and photos on how to assemble. In my case, the new product went right over the old, rusty, awful-looking hot water heat baseboard covers. I used a hack saw and tin snips to make some of the necessary cuts to the NeatHeat covers and end pieces. I am no Mr. Handyman, and I was able to make it look great. My wife was in shock. Excellent product. Highly recommend. Definitely met my expectations.

                      new bathroom low cost
I was sick and tired of looking at the rusty baseboard in the bathroom. Saw commercial and that it was at my local HD store so I ordered and picked it up. Hardest part was removing my old baseboard. Couple snaps and click wa-la!
