You have to first prep the area as if you were going to do a paver. You will have to take out the grass put down a barrier and crushed gravel and sand the area. Then flatten and stamp it out then you can put the tiles on top. The reason being you don't want grass or weeds growing through the bottom as well as you don't want the tile to shift over time from the ground shifting.
While all material has some slipperiness, the nature to which you may feel it is slippery would vary based on the contact material. We do not anticipate an excessive level of slipperiness with NewTechWood products. With that said, you will find some slipperiness to be mitigated by the rough wood grain pattern. If you have specific environmental concerns, we encourage you to test a sample. Feel free to reach out to us via the customer inquiry form on our website at http://www.newtechwood.com/us/contact.html with your name, address, phone number, email, and the product(s) and color(s) for which you would like a sample.
Hi, PK. The longest length we make for our deck tiles is 3 feet, or 36 inches, depending on color. We do not currently offer 48 inch deck tiles. However, you could orient the tiles in a way that you have 4 feet lengths. Please email inquiry@newtechwood,com for further clarification, or if you have any other questions.
The green color deck tiles are available in 12x12 tiles only.
Hello Chris. We cannot confirm the compatibility of placing NewTechWood deck tiles directly on a third-party pedestal system, and would not recommend such a use. However, we do plan to introduce our own pedestal system soon (as of September 2019). One workaround to this would be to use a pedestal system, place pressure treated plywood above it, and then use the deck tiles on top of the deck boards. Please if you and further questions please email us at inquiry@newtechwood.com or call us at 281-570-6450.
