      A:  No, Novik Blocks and Vents should not be painted. Novik Blocks and Vents are made from a non-stick polymer that enables it to be weather and stain resistant. Due to these non-stick properties, paint will not adhere well to the blocks or vents. In fact, painting Novik Blocks and Vents will void the lifetime limited warranty.

              I returned this item the day I picked it up....
              I returned this item the day I picked it up. I needed an18x12. Regardless of what the description says, it is 12Wx18H. It would not work for my application at all. It looked nice and well built, just did not match the description.

              It turns out, this vent is designed to be used only with new construction, not to insert a vent into an existing building. It will take considerable reimagining to use it in an existing building, but it can be done.
