AnswerThank you for your interest in Hillman products. This depends on your application. For smaller science fair projects using nails or bolts as the core I would use very fine copper wire. For large applications 22ga would be fine. You will also have to use sandpaper to remove the insulated coating on the tips of the copper wire.
