Any bit you can use on wood you can use on acrylic to cut. Just remember to take your time when drilling acrylic.

Not sure. I have used a heat gun on it to bend it. It will discolor with excessive heat

Should work, I used a thinner acrylic sheet to protect the glass of a fish aquarium from a toddler- so far so good :)
