What can I say about a toilet bowl wax ring? It is a standard thickness reinforced toilet mounting ring. Comes with a plastic horn(provides the reinforcement). Included quick bolts help with keeping the mounting bolts properly lined up when setting the toilet on the closet. This is very helpful for one person installations. This manufacturer recommends utilizing a ring of putty around the outside rim of the toilet base.

The Oatey Hercules ring is a ring that has the extra rubber in the wax. I have found that these types of seals work the best and last the longest. They are just a little more money and who wants to lift their toilet in a year or so if you used a cheaper type of wax seal when mounting your toilet. I don't. Not all plumbers will use the wax seals that have this extra strength added. I'm of the opinion that seating a toilet is a nasty job that I don't want to be doing again for many years!

This is a basic, standard wax ring for toilet installation. It includes closet bolts, washers and nuts, so it is a complete package. The box has installation instructions printed on the back, though people buying this most likely know how to install it. But, if not, instructions are pretty straight-forward. Professional plumbers I have worked with recommend using an extra thick wax ring, so this one does not meet their recommendations. The extra thickness insures a good seal regardless of the heighth of the floor underneath the toilet. But, this particular wax ring should work sufficiently if the floor is level and secure. It is a good value in that it includes the closet bolts, washers and nuts, so everything you need is in one package.

Nice and thick for a wax ring. Easy to install and the flange that goes inside the toilet give you a good indication that it's properly aligned. The bolts seem sturdy and i like how you can push-install them and then tighten them down. My only fear is that the flange that goes inside the toilet might snag some refuse on the way out.- I haven't installed it yet, so i guess that's tbd.

This was easy to install and seems to be working great as it should. The wax ring was protected by a plastic pop out molding witch was simple to remove before installing. It fits 3" and 4" plumbing and all the screws and bolts are included. It fit perfectly without any issues and I would definitely recommend over the plastic and high dollar rings..

After installing the Oatey Johni-ring on toilet, no more leaks from under side. A bit difficult of a project, but works great after installed. First I turned off water, drained tank, and used a sponge and bucket to evacuate water from toilet bowl. Next I removed tank from toilet and set aside. Then loosened and removed nuts and bolts holding toilet to drain pipe. Removed toilet bowl and turned it upside down for cleaning as per instructions. Used a plastic bag to stuff in drain hole while working on installation to stop smell and sewer gas (be sure to remove bag before attaching toilet back to pipe). Cleaned all old wax from under side of toilet and off of pipe flange on floor. Bolts were put in place on flange, and I used the plastic retainer pieces to hold the bolts upright (not sure if this was correct, but they worked great for this purpose). Next, per instructions, pressed the wax ring on to bottom of toilet as shown. Now put toilet back on flange and pressed seal down on flange. Do not tighten bolts too tight at base of toilet, or you will crack the base. Re-assembled toilet, again do not tighten tank bolts too tight or you might crack tank. After assembly, flushed toilet several times and no leaks. Only problem I had was plastic bolt covers had nothing to snap on to for a finished look. So I replaced the new nuts with the old retaining pieces which the plastic bolt caps attached to. Worked great. Also, following instructions on box, by putting wax ring on toilet first, then putting toilet on floor, makes for a better seal to pipe flange (no leaks).

Got this to replace a half bath toilet. Not much to say about these other than it works how it's supposed to!
Get it to room temp, follow the instructions, and bam, you got a new toilet set up.
It comes with bolts and washers so you don't really need to worry about picking those up.
