Q:If this product would not be appropriate to insulate a vaulted roof with 2 x 6? construction, which of your insulation products would you recommend to achieve the highest R value possible while allowing for a 1? air gap? Zone 7.

It stays in place. No need for stapleing it to the lid. This product also gives me plenty of time...

I am so confused about the dimensions and coverage
Dimensions and sq foot coverage are really confusing and this product is not available in stores to pickup. Also cannot order in small quantities and have to be ordered in bulk. I was trying to make a comparison of which one to buy, but the width factor is also confusing. Number of batts within each package is also different. Why not display per sqft ? I know with thickness the price changes but that's ok, at least we narrowed it down to one factor.

Hi LeasingCompany, thank you for your review. The Fire and Sound Guard Plus R-23 will have 5 pieces per bag. The 16 bags indicated would cover 600 sq ft. You will need to contact Home Depot regarding available order quantities.

It is easy to install. It cuts well but dulls knives quickly. You need to treat it like fiberglass because it will cause itching for those sensitive.

Great product
I'm using it in 2 x 6 ceiling joists 16" O.C. in an attic of an older home. It neatly fills the cavity; doesn't compress. For me, it fulfills my need.

Home built around 1877, so insulation is very low. I read all the reviews and loved the fire resistance, noise deading and of course the R factor. I have put it in and there are odd spots, which because you can cut it with a knife I can make smaller pieces, which fit snug. I noticed right away that the room was warmer, that room gets the blast of winter winds and summer sun. We'll see what summer brings.
