A:  Hello, thank you for asking. We are happy to help! Our Limelight is one of the last bloomers and doesn't typically bloom until around mid-season (right about now in Michigan). I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 734-654-7485. Kind Regards, Allie

Q:I was hoping to order the Limelight Hydrangeas (in July) and place them in a container in the front of my house which receives the northwest sun in zone 6a, then depending on the result transplant to the ground in the fall. Do you think that is wise?

A:  Hi Elaine - Limelight is an extremely durable, long-lived plant that is easy to grow. It likes full sun in cold climates, and afternoon shade in warmer ones, but it does require well-drained soils that do not remain soggy for any amount of time. Temporary plantings in containers can work well to get roots established and transplant into the landscape to allow for more growth and development. We have some great information on growing hydrangeas in containers at the following link: https://provenwinnersdirect.com/blogs/garden-resource-center/how-to-grow-hydrangeas-in-pots As always, please feel free to reach out to us at any time with any questions or concerns. A:  Yes. I also kept mine in a pot. I actually left it in that pot all winter in 7A. You will be fine so long as you give it a couple weeks to root into the ground before the first hard freeze. You can probably plant these any time of year but to be safe just make sure the ground is workable. These plants are nearly indestructible. And within a couple years you will be thrilled with it in the ground with plenty of room. Mine is on its 3rd year and already six foot wide and tall with tons of blooms.

Q:Hello, I just purchased 11 of these plants. I really want the ?Limelight Prime? shrubs. I just watched a video describing the difference between 4 if the Proven Winner Limelight Hydranges. Which one is this?

A:  Hello Cari, Thank you for asking! I am happy to help. The Limelight Hardy Hydrangea has huge, football-shaped flowers that open in an elegant celadon green that looks fresh and clean in summer's heat. The blooms age to an array of pink, red, and burgundy which persists through frost for months of irresistible flowers. Limelight Prime Hydrangea is an improved, more refined ‘Limelight’, with darker leaves, stronger stems, a more compact habit, and upright growth. It makes a great container plant. The blooms emerge a vivid lime-green and maintain that color until they transition into a bubblegum pink and then a deep punch pink. It also makes an excellent cut flower, fresh or dried. It is drought-tolerant and blooms every year, even in cold climates. As always, please feel free to reach out to us at any time with any questions or concerns. Shocked ... happily so!
The idea of ordering a hydrangea- or any plant - online was alien to me. How could this possible end well? But I really wanted Limelight variety and no garden center had any left. I rolled the dice and ordered. Wow! Was I surprised ... came fast, awesome packaging- vibrant, lush green plants in perfect condition. So happy!!

I received the three Limelight Hydrangeas in great shape very quickly after ordering. Gave them a drink, waited about a week before planting. Planted them four days ago. They seem to be very happy in their new home. Can’t wait for spring. I live in Central Florida.

                Sad little plant
Encouraged by the pictures of other reviewers showing fluffy, healthy plants I thought I would give the mail-order plant business a try. I'll concede that its hot up and down the interior of the United States at the moment and made sure to retrieve this little guy from the porch upon arrival - but the heat isn't the sole reason this plant is tiny and twig-like. I will be sticking to picking out plants at the store in the future.

                    Exceeded my expectations!
I ordered a 1 gallon Proven Winners Limelight hydrangea on August 6th. And it came August 10th. Prompt delivery, plant was full and big. In great condition considering the heat outside. Perked right back up after watering. I'm giving it 5 stars already just on product when it was delivered.

Bought 10 Limelight Hydrangeas to create a hedge row. Plants were all healthy and green. Super well packaged for shipping. Planted 6 weeks ago and all are healthy and thriving.
