I am building a patio out of 12" x 12"x 2" concert blocks can this fire pit be build right on top...

I am building a patio out of 12" x 12"x 2" concert blocks can this fire pit be build right on top of the blocks? or should a separate base be put in for fire pit and bring the patio blocks up to the outside edges of the fire pit?

Make sure to fill the firepit atleast half full with rock so that the block underneath is not in the direct heat.

I love the fire pit that was delivered, I added a great Granite top to put the finishing touches on it BUT the delivery person damaged my driveway when they delivered it so now I have a damaged driveway, nice hole from the dolly used.
