                Answer This Question

Hi, thank you for contacting PORTER-CABLE. This unit does not work with screws. If nails the unit should be able to do it, however, they need to check for nails that are resistant to the chemicals used for treating the wood. Thanks Frank PORTER-CABLE

Does this nailer shake/vibrate the wood much? How much less impact would it cause than pounding with a hammer? I want to use it on a 120 year old roof and I'm worried about shaking all the framing and brick loose. Thanks!

can it work on 20d nails 4" ? I bought one and the advertising said up to 6"nails. they must have meant finish nails because it doesn't fit a 20d head nail to me it looks like the hole/magnet is off center

                        Amazing little nailer
I bought this nailer despite negative ratings, so I did not have high expectations. I was surprized at its reliability and effectiveness. I built a 28' x 10' deck from scratch and used the nailer for nails ranging from 1.5" to 3". The piston got suck once only and was easy to dislodge with one hard bump. It was a huge time and effort saver, well worth the really low investment.

Always looked at these but never could justify getting it. Now that I have one, I don't know how I made it without one.

I recently installed header beams and the areas between 2 hangers was really tight to put nails in with a hammer. I used this palm nailer and I was able to get the hangers installed to the LVL beams and I beams. Awesome. 5 star tool.

Overall I am happy with this nailer. I am driving 3 inch nails without any problem. Sometimes the head goes inside the sleeve and sometimes the head doesn't fit into it. Starting the nail in the correct alignment is the most difficult, especially when toe nailing.

A very handy addition to my collection of nailers
Nail guns are great but when you get into a tight spot you can't beat one of these palm nailers. This porter cable palm nailer is very well made and should last for a very long time. You won't be disappointed with this product.

I had worn out an earlier version of this same nailer and had been satisfied with the service I got. However, the new one I purchased and took right to the job site, had a stuck piston and bled air. It was not usable right out of the box, which was a real disappointment. Hopefully it is just a fluke -

The contractor tried to use it several times and it didn’t work. The nails didn’t bush not even a bit. He ended doing it by hand. I was very disappointed with the product.
