Q:Is this valve adjustable down to 50 pounds?
by|Jan 9, 2020

Answer This Question

A:  No. Pressure relief valves are factory set and cannot be adjusted.

by|Jan 9, 2020

A:  No. It's a pop off valve that protects your equipment if the pressure goes over 150 PSI. It's not an adjustable regulator for the hose connections.

    by|Jan 11, 2020

A:  If you want a lower pressure relief valve, you will have to buy a different one. These come factory set and are not adjustable.

      by|Jan 10, 2020

A:  no this is an over pressure valve for the users safety.

        by|Jan 10, 2020

A:  No.. it's a relief valve that comes set for 150 psi. Buy an adjustable pressure relief valve.

Q:When you pull it is it a post to stay open until all the air drains from the tank instead of holding it?

            Answer This Question

A:  No it does not stay open. It is a safety valve, once the threshold pressure is reached it closes

            by|Jul 26, 2019

A:  You can push the little rod back down to close it from draining your compressor.

              by|Nov 4, 2022

A:  It is spring loaded to the closed position. Pulling the ring will allow tank content to escape. Releasing the ring will stop air from escaping.

                by|Jul 26, 2019

A:  You will need to manually pull the ring to open it. When you let go of the ring, it will close itself.

                  by|Jul 26, 2019

A:  The valve should only stay open for as long as you are manually holding it open. If it stays open on its own there is likely some sort of debris in the valve’s seat. I’d try to cycle it out a few times to see if you can re-seat it. Trouble is that you can’t test it because it’s blow-off release point is likely higher that the compressor’s rated top end. In the interest of ‘safety first’ you may want to purchase a new relief valve and trash the stuck open unit.

A:  You may have to push little rod back down. you can do this when it pops up also.

                      by|Jul 28, 2019

A:  Once the relief valve is activated, it will vent the excess pressure and re-close between 120 and 150 PSI.

                          Answer This Question

A:  It depends on what you mean by taking heat. I have not disassembled one, but I imagine it has a spring and a valve seat. If you are referring to phoenix temps, I would say yes, if you plan on hitting it with a torch I would say no. Your question is very vague, with no specifics or details

                          by|Jun 15, 2019

A:  The pressure relief valve is specifically designed to be used on an air compressor or air storage tank and not recommended for any other application where the temperature exceeds 250 degrees. The valve is made of solid brass and the internal spring is stainless steel.

                              Worthless junk
Same problem I had with the one I replaced. Started bleeding pressure at about 75 lbs. The compressor kicks on at 80 lbs. With this valve, like the old one, the compressor kicked on, then off for a minute, then back on. Useless!

                              Perfect replacement part. :)
Fit exactly like the factory relief valve. Solved my compressor leaking problem, and took all of 2-mins.
