Product Details

Heavy Duty ProFlex No-Dig Landscape Edging has a thicker, taller (1.6 in.) wall compared to regular No-Dig Edgings to create a clean line between your landscaping and grass or weeds. The heavy duty recycled plastic is ideal to keep ground cover materials in your garden beds, including river rock, lava rock, pebbles, wood mulch, pine needles, and more. Installing ProFlex Landscape Edging is as easy as clearing the area of debris and loose dirt, laying the edging along the desired shape and hammering the anchoring spikes (included) through the tab. Easily cut the coil with garden shears or utility scissors to use in multiple garden beds. Use No-Dig Edging with weed fabric for an extra layer of weed protection. The spikes easily pierce through weed fabric and help secure the barrier. The plastic is durable, yet flexible enough to give a clean edge to any shape garden or create tight circles around trees. The patented No-Dig L-shaped design eliminates damage from digging into tree and plant roots. Kit includes (1) 100 ft. coil of landscape edging, (30) 8 in. spiral spikes, and (5) connectors. This Heavy Duty No-Dig Landscape Edging kit can complete a 100 lin. ft. installation.

Q:I need to replace In-ground edging around trees (round) as roots are pushing it out. Hoping the close nails will keep it more secured. My concern is many review re hot weather ripple the edging, has that issue been resolved?

Answer This Question

A:  In direct sunlight the edging will ripple, no matter how tight you pull and anchor it will ripple no matter what.

by|Apr 12, 2022

A:  It will ripple in the heat rather excessively.  Installed about 300ft and am replacing it this year.  Do not recommend.

    by|Apr 9, 2022

A:  There are 12 large trees in my yard with roots as you describe that I have surrounded with this edging in order to make Hosta beds. I love this edging that I installed about 3 years ago and don't remember it rippling in hot weather. I do check the nails in the Spring to see that they are secure after a Winter of freezing and thawing. When they have a tendency to come up a bit.

      by|Apr 9, 2022

A:  I put down 200 feet of this edging last year as a barrier along the lawn and shrubbery.  I've never used it around large trees especially if they have roots that seem to get bigger each year.  This edging does expand in hot weather and contract in the freezing weather.  It will likely heave with the root growth.  Would recommend using bricks as a barrier or just edging the lawn around the trees each year with a garden edger.  In any case, good luck!

          Answer This Question

A:  This edging is 1-3/4 inches in height and the anchor tabs are 2-1/2 inches.  Would recommend extra anchor spikes for areas where there will be curved installation.  Also lay the product in the sun light to relax before installing.

A:  Yes, however my weed-whacker is battery not gas so not for certain as gas is more aggressive. D

A:  The ProFlex edging will stand up to a string trimmer, no problem. Although this is a thick plastic edging, we do not recommend using a trimmer with a metal blade, as this will damage the edging over time.

              by|May 11, 2020

A:  Yes, it is low profile and I have actually mowed over it. The material is very tough.

                by|Jul 8, 2021

A:  Good afternoon Nicholask, Last year I bought 200 ft of the HD edging kit thinking I would use 85 feet of it and 30 feet would be destroyed by November and I would have immediate "back-up"... not so. I've run over it with the mower, chunked it with the trimmer and whacked it with the chainsaw.... no nicks, no busted pieces, no replacements....... in the meantime, I still have 115 feet of new HD edging that you can borrow. -

Q:Can this be used as a paver restraint?

                  Answer This Question

A:  We do not recommend using this edging as a paver restraint. You should use something more rigid and dense to restrain paver patios or walkways.

                  by|Jul 25, 2021

A:  No, it cannot be used as a paver restraint.

                    by|Apr 15, 2020

A:  I only used it for a large mulch bed. I’m not sure it would be strong enough to hold back pavers.

                      by|Apr 15, 2020

A:  Yes. I have several locations where that is exactly how i used it. (I purchased extra stakes and used them more frequently for runs I wanted to keep straight - has held up nicely for a few years now!)

Not strong enough for larger jobs like long side walks, though the length is good. But the pins are not strong and they break. Had to get metal pins to keep the bends in place. Great product but need metal pins for bigger jobs. Good for smaller jobs like around a plant or small trees.

It ripples a bit when exposed to the direct heat of the sun (see photo), but when it cools down in the shade, it smooths out completely. That's why I subtracted one star. After further investigation, I noted that another edging company recommends that you unroll the entire length of edging on the pavement, weight the edging on each end and expose to direct sunlight for 3 to 4 hours at a temperature over 75 degrees F. I should've tried that, but not sure that it would make any difference.

Very happy with this product. Very easy to use. My husband loved that you don't have to dig into the ground to place it. We commented on this several times during installation because it saved so much time and energy. We left the old edging in and just placed this edging just outside it. It was perfect. Tip: It is best just to bring the landscape fabric under the edging and then cut off the fabric on the outside of the edging. At first we tried to fold it back and then use the edging pins but found it was better/easier/better coverage with the fabric, just to cut it off after. (Painting the shutters soon!)

Excellent product, heavy duty yet very easy to install. It was extremely flexible and easy to manipulate into the configurations I designed and a pair of Fiskers made clean cuts when needed. The only downside, the manufacturer doesn't provide enough stakes so plan on purchasing (separately) the amount of stakes needed to ensure the product is secured properly. I purchased 5 additional boxes (24/box).

Had a project to have an edging for my backyard. So Glad i found this. It was so easy and so fast to install. Did not sweat at all. No digging needed and as described, really made of durable ang good quality material, really heavy duty. Had it for 2 weeks now and still looking good. My backyard is looking really good and easier to manage now. This product Definitely exceeded my expectation. Would be nice if there is an option to get a taller one, like say 2.5 inch tall. Overall, it is an awsome product and totally recommend it.

The price was very good for this edging. I needed a barrier to keep my Bermuda grass from invading my neighbor's yard. I ran this on top of the ground and needed the full 1.75" of the sidewall (not 2"). It warmed up well in the sun, not too difficult to unwind 100'. There are not enough spikes to keep a straight line, but if you are using it for a curve and light mulch it might be ok.. I put spikes less than 2' apart and the heat of the South Carolina sun still made it wavy. I put up to 2" of river pebble between the two rows of edging and it held it pretty well with some waving. It is much thicker than the next grade down. Compared to the no dig rounded edge, it waved more, but the edge was twice as tall. The fact that this is a 90 degree flat "L"edged construction it is logical that it flexes or becomes more wavy than the rounded edge. I would give it a 4 out of 5 for this job.
