Can this be put in the crack of cement of the patio

Asked by: Charlie
This is dye used to add color to cement. We mixed it with cement to make a stone walkway. It isn't a crack filler if that's what you are looking for.

Can this be added to latex paint ?
Asked by: Ken
The product is designed to go into the concrete mix. Since it is water soluble it would also work in latex paint. Not sure what the results would be. If it is white latex then you would get a grey color. I would not add latex paint to concrete mix.

I have a cement statue that I used plaster of paris on so it is different in color as opposed to the cement, so I was going to prime white first but wanted to restore it to its cement look, can I use this product once i paint with white primer and still get a decent cement resemblance?
Asked by: nikki
It’s not likely. Cement color is not a paint or stain, so unless it is mixed with the plaster and allowed to see up WITH the plaster it will wash off with water i.e. rain etc. it would probably be better to use grey spray primer to put a couple coats on the patch, letting each coat dry for a couple hours between applications, then coat the whole figure with the grey primer to give it a fresh cement look.

I used the "Charcoal" color on some countertops with excellent results. The product should be mixed with water then added to the dry mix. Mixing it with water is tricky because the dye settles out very quickly. You need to shake the bottle vigorously and constantly stir the water to get the color right. I was very happy with the final result; the look and feel is like slate or bluestone at a fraction of the cost.

Extremely disappointed. Now I have a porch and sidewalk that looks horrible. Too much money and labor to tear out.

On a scale of 0-10... 0 = no effect, and 10 = Black... I would say my ratio yielded a 4. So if you want a very dark, I would use it 1:1 (bag to bottle of color)
