how long does it take to cure? its been down over 24 hours and doesn't seem to be getting hard. Temperature here in the high 90s

    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

This can depend on the size and depth of the application. QUIKRETE® Permanent Blacktop Repair can be driven over immediately. The more the product is driven over, the faster it will harden. • QUIKRETE® Permanent Blacktop Repair will continue to harden as it ages as it is specifically designed as a gradual setting product – this allows the material to fill small voids and crevices through repeated compaction. • Spreading a small amount of fine, dry sand over the repaired area prior to final compaction can help reduce the curing time of QUIKRETE® Permanent Blacktop Repair. This will affect the appearance.

This was so easy to do! I am a 70 year old female and I just followed the instructions! I tamped it down using heavy duty trash bags to protect my tires on my car. It could not have been easier!

                    Don’t buy
It takes so long to dry when weather is hot it will melt and if you drive your car it will stick out in your tire and road

                      Okkk
I bought two bags. One was oily black, one was oily white and did not compact or flow well at all. I would do it on a hot day so it helps with flow and compaction.

Worked for the 10’L X 12”W trench across my 8’ drive way. Rented a compactor for the final layer or you can use a hand tamper which I did initially. It was chilly December weather and once cold the product can be difficult to work. I laid card board down in the house for several days and that made this product much easier to work as it was room temperature. I’d definitely use it again but I hope I don’t have too. Note the compactor rent was about $65.00 for 1 day. Took me about 10 minutes and that was money well spent. The first layers I used a hand tamper. Don’t do that if the job is of any size.

                          Doesn't work... it won't dry
We applied 9 bags of Quickcrete to two potholes per instructions. Waited 72 hrs to apply the sealer still didn't dry. We applied the sealer anyway thinking that maybe with everything on it, it may dry eventually. The sealer has completely cracked and the pieces of quickcrete and sealer are still coming off 1 week later. We are now going to have to rip up everything and repair again with another product and reseal, which is additional labor and material costs. Do not recommend.

My review is I used 5 - 50 LB bags going on now about 40 hours ago
3 sink wholes in my driveway - first I used Late-lite super patch 40 Lbs barrows $ 35. Each & it has cured but needed more 5 - bags of the Quikrete 50Lb bags ! Supposedly 24 hours after putting down you can seal cost ! I’m now about 40 hours in w/ the Quikrete , questionably rain 10 hours ago but did not now it’s raining now slightly and the Late-Lite Trowel patch needs 24 hours drying time No Rain ! Which will be this is now Saturday rain - Sunday suppose to rain Monday- Friday morning no rain figure Tuesday through Thursday No rain & temps on Thursday 78 degrees that’s the Trowel Patch drying then for the sealant Latex-Lite Ultra shield Filler Sealer have to wait for weather to agree ! Will see if this stuff works as advertised ! ~ ? “ You’ll read it “ I will post good or bad ! I will promote Latex-Lite & Quikrete or I will slam them on every Media network !
