Q:How many 80 pound bahs so I need
        by|Nov 8, 2023
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  An 80-lb bag of QUIKRETE 5000 High Early Strength Concrete Mix yields approximately 0.6 cubic feet per bag when mixed with clean water per instructions. A step that is 5 feet x 2 feet x 16 inches (1-1/3 feet) will require approximately 13-1/3 cubic feet of concrete, or 23 80-lb bags. Yields are approximate and will vary based upon waste, uneven subgrade, etc.

            Great for Home Projects
Installed a Little Library for our neighborhood. This product performed exactly as advertised. So easy to place in the hole and then add water.

great for concrete coffee table project
I used 4.25 50 lb bags to fill a melamine form and made a 'modern' style concrete table with rebar 6" x 6" wire. I let it set while I was away for 5 days in the form, then removed the form and let it cure for an additional 5 days before polishing with pads up to 800 grit and applied a wet look sealer. Very pleased with the finished product. It's very heavy and sturdy - will probably be around as long as stone henge! The aggregate in the mix added character to the finished product.

Did the job. Poured three bags in a 30" deep hole for a post to secure a retractable garden hose assembly. Followed with a garden hose to water the mixture and left it sit over night. Next day, solid as a rock. Looks great and is sturdy.

Worked great. Original instructions seemed a bit off for Water/Mix ration, but once you get that down, goes pretty quickly. Utilized a Quikrete Walkway mold as well to do a concrete "paver" patio and turned out great.

This worked out well for my driveway. I replaced a 7x9 foot section. Thought I calculated right and added a few extra bags to be safe, but ended up with a dozen extra. Home Depot took the extras back. Directions recommended 3/4 gallon of water to mix with each bag, but that was too dry. Learned that the hard way. That part did not finish smooth.
