Q:Why does the manual say that the glue gun supports up to 5/8 glue sticks but 5/8 glue sticks don't fit?????????? Spent some money on pricey glue sticks only to find out the manual is completely wrong? How do I make 5/8 fit as it is stated in the manual.

Awesome cordless hot glue gun. Very pleased to use it making solid surface counters
I've used corded hot glue guns for a long time, mostly related to woodworking and in the process of making solid surface counter tops. They never seem to have a long enough cord... Decided to try this cordless glue gun. It has three power settings (on the back of the handle) and comes with three different size tips, along with some short samples of glue. I used my own high temp glue sticks and not the free ones that were included. It worked very well. It takes about a minute to warm up (sorry, didn't time it) and the light changes to show you its ready. You can adjust how much "pull" you get out of the trigger by adjusting the knob on the back. I usually left it on the most, as it is easy enough to be a gentler on the trigger. The one fault it has, which every hot glue gun seems to have, is that it dribbles glue if you leave it on between steps. I got in the habit of setting any hot glue gun on a piece of scrap or a towel to catch the drips, and you will have to do that with this one, too. My first big project was using it as part of gluing up a solid surface counter - I use hot glue to hold blocks of wood that are used to position the edge pieces and ribs and gives something to clamp to. Worked great, one battery lasted the whole project. Very happy overall.

Very convenient upgrade to a glue gun
I have used hot melt glue guns for many years. Originally they were corded, which was inconvenient but all there was. Then there was "cordless" where the corded gun sat in a holder to het hot then lifted out to unplug for us. An improvement but it quickly cooled down. This true cordless glue gun is perfect. Obviously you can use it for long periods of time, limited only by eventual battery changes. Next it has an indicator that tells you when it is hot and ready. Even better it has three temperature settings, something I never had before. This is great for different types of hot melt products. The interchangeable tips are a real plus, too.

Easy to use and better than expected
I've been using cheapie A/C glue guns for many many years. A couple of years ago I picked up an inexpensive name brand 18V gun, what a pleasure, no cord! As part of a Home Depot promotion I was offered this feature-rich RIDGID 18V Cordless Professional High Temp Glue Gun (tool only), you'll need a battery and charger. I own a few other RIDGID 18V tools so for me this is not a problem. Having a second gun, one for my shop and one for my home, will be convenient. This guy offers three selectable heat setting, 280° F, 340° F and 400° F, stroke adjustment dial for precise dispensing, ready-to-use LED indicator light, three interchangeable glue nozzles and a switchable LED work light. RIDGID includes five 8 inch glue sticks. This uses 1/2 in. sticks but anything described as 0.43 to 0.5 in. will work. As advertised this heats up quickly and the trigger adjustment is a nice feature, I also appreciate the LED work light. If you're looking for a reliable, high-tech, glue gun you won't be disappointed with this RIDGID.

Never used a glue gun before. I will say it does come in handy now, and being battery operated, well I will be able to hide it from my wife. I know when she sees it, she'll want one too.

The ability to not have to drag a power cord around when working on various projects makes this tool an excellent addition to my tool collection. Have only had it for about a month but I think its worth it.

Bought for Christmas lights (hot glue essential for hanging lights on stucco). Should have bought a long time ago, very convenient, warms up quick, low, med, high setting to get right glue temp for project.
