About This Product
ROCKWOOL COMFORTBATT is a semi-rigid stone wool batt insulation for exterior wood and steel stud applications in both new construction and renovations. It features a unique flexible edge designed to compress as the batt is inserted then spring back, expanding the batt against the frame studs to give a complete fill. This flexibility ensures the expected R-value is achieved and maintained. Non-combustible and fire resistant, COMFORTBATT will not develop toxic smoke or promote flame spread, even when exposed directly to a fire. It is also offers water and moisture resistance and excellent sound absorbency. COMFORTBATT is an effective way to improve a home's energy efficiency. It is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and contributes to a healthier indoor environment.

Is Rockwall come faced for a vapor barrier?
Hello Timbo. ROCKWOOL does not face the batt products. The use of a vapor retarder is dependent on the climate zone and local building codes. In some jurisdictions, the building code requires a vapor retarder. We suggest consulting your local building code and building officials for further reference. Recommendations and requirements of local codes and officials should always take precedence. The three classes of vapor retarders are defined depending on the vapor permeance of the vapor control layer as per the 2021 IRC, https://codes.iccsafe.org/content/IRC2021P2/chapter-7-wall-covering
Is this pest control or deterrent?
Hello Timm. There is no test method to determine whether or not any product is rodent resistant. ROCKWOOL’s reputation as a rodent-resistant insulation is mainly based on word of mouth and lack of negative feedback from numerous customers who use our products in “cottage country”. That being said, if a certain pest type is a nuisance to your particular area, best practice is to protect the insulation.
I've got 15 inch inside to inside floor joist what width insulation do I need to buy
The batts are sized for regular 16" or 24" on center dimensions ( measuring from the center of one framing member to the center of the next) Typically the physical spacing for 16"oc would be 14.5". If yours are wider physical spacing at a full 15" I would suggest the wider material sized for 16"oc steel studs which is 16.25" wide to provide a better friction fit.
In each bag, the sheets are 4 feet long. In the R30, how many sheet are there per bag. I can easily calculate my need case with this answer. Thank you in advance.
