ONE+ HP 18V Brushless Cordless 10 in. Sliding Compound Miter Saw (Tool Only)

I was waiting for the 10” cordless sliding chop to drop in price then all of a sudden you couldn’t get it anymore! I was wishing they had a smaller 7-1/4” sliding chop anyway because if I’m cutting 6x6 I’m going to use my larger 12” 120v saw. Pros: - Lightweight. Super easy to move up/down stairs around a job site, into a lift or into your truck. I paired this saw with a light Rigid stand with rollers on the end which is a way better stand for $100 than the matching Ryobi stand. When I do work in my 3rd story apartment rental and I need a saw on the deck... this is way easier to bring up/set up/take down every night - Cordless is awesome for working in a lift, on a new job site with no power yet, for quick smaller jobs, or for remote job sites off grid with no power available -easy to zero fence, surprisingly accurate for the cost as I was expecting less - price is decent at $200 (old 10” sliding chop was ~$350). I would have paid more if it had some of the features missing below however - only needs x1 18v battery vs x2 18v batteries to make 36v like the old one. 4ah lasts quite a while but my 9ah lasts for a few days doing strapping/blocking Cons: -no work light? Really? Every cordless tool has a light and this one could really use it to get the blade lined up with your line clearly. I don’t care for/use lasers but it doesn’t have one of those either -only a single bevel for doing crown molding etc. not the end of the world but I can’t imagine they saved more than $1 in manufacturing costs over this -fence is very short considering saws width which makes it tougher to square up heavier boards accurately - table is VERY small with with just a thin jut supporting wider work away from the fence. This was noticed most when cutting flimsier things like vinyl shakes for siding - not brushless... Ryobi is famous for making a tool twice in both non brushless and then in brushless so they can release it twice and maybe get people to buy it then want the more powerful/efficient brushless model later. Stay tuned, I’m sure a brushless model is coming! - wish the slides were just a little longer! We have had other 7-1/4” trim saws on the job site that can cut bigger trim for decks, siding etc at angles due to a longer slide. I don’t think I could cut a 2x8 at a 45.

Ryobi nailed it with this new versioned multi-functional featured 7-1/4" compound /slide miter. This tool hits that sweet spot between a "hobby" project and a full blown trim saw. This saw will not be thrown up on a top shelf in the garage. This is a sweet addition to my set. Impressive little saw!

Already folks so if you read some of my other reviews you know that I’m slowly building this Ryobi arsenal. Royobi I waited for this 7 1/4 sliding miter saw all winter and finally it’s here. Here’s my review, this will not need any 9.0 or 6.0 just a 4.0 will do. I love the affordability. I love the flexibility I love the ability that you can cut a 1x10, 2 x 10 with no issue. The reason I give it a 4.0 is this long anticipated release and the lack of the addition of a laser come on Ryobi really. What’s worse is they release it in spring bump the price up to 200 bucks and in reality this is your $99 small compact retrofit, with a sliding neck. Dude really 100 bucks more for that and yet you still left out the laser. Very disappointing. But in regards to versatility, it works just fine. If you use it correctly you take care of it works no different then the little tiny one which, I love that it moves that all over the place and I don’t have to carry around the big boy miter. So I said, what and why not go and spend the $200 and I did.Now here is my fix for the no laser retrofit it with add-on piece bought through your competitor and guess what this baby now lined up just fine with a little extra guide. So you can’t beat that this thing goes anywhere and I have no worries about needing cords like anywhere. Excellent sleek and compact miter saw. The sliding feature allows you to cut upwards to 10 inches. I was able to cut 2x8 and 2x10 with it. Used it to replace some baseboards and the cordless capability was phenomenal. I was able to use it outside and keep the debris and dust away from the interior of the home. Worked easily with my 4AH battery. I made over 30 cuts and didn’t lose a single power cell on the battery. I love it and can’t wait for a larger model to gif the market. Hopefully a 10” sliding miter saw will be next.

I was in the market for a new saw as the "honey-do" list was starting to get a bit long - sandbox for my son, raised garden beds for my wife and a few small projects for me. I was drawn to this saw because if the price tag and the features. My father-in-law was visiting and helped me work on my first project, the raised beds. My FIL is quite the handyman and has built up an impressive collection of tools and equipment over the years. He's usually a bit skeptical about using different equipment as "he's tried it all" but after getting him set up on this saw - he was sold. It was easy to use, super lightweight and portable and made great/accurate cuts. The raised beds turned out great (photo attached) and my wife is happily planning her garden. All in all - I'm really happy with this saw, its a great value.  It'll be perfect for all the small projects I have around the house.  My FIL is already making room in his collection for one of these!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tool to remodel my entire house. I re-did my trim, my siding and even built a red wood deck in the back. During this process it stormed hail and rain and my saw was dumped on. When the storm passed I picked up with the job and finished up.

Its great for small jobs, trim work and what-not. Could use a bit more torque with cutting 2x4's and larger stuff.
