I bought these for painting kindness rocks. Most were pretty true to size, smooth in texture, but some were most DEFINITELY not flat.
A good value and overall, worked well for my needs. Too bad they are currently out of stock online, I wanted to order another bag.

These are the perfect size that I was looking for. I laid a paver and stone border around my existing patio and along with the 20" concrete pavers (which I sealed with the Eagle wet look paver sealer, 2 coats each), my patio looks great. Now onto staining the existing pavers!

I was awed by the quality of this order. There was only one rock in the whole bunch that was chipped and that wasn't too bad. There were probably 30 or 35 rocks total which was perfect for my needs. I taught a class on geology to a group of children at a local Nature center. I had two classes of 12 children each class. As a craft, after the lesson, the children were allowed to choose their very own "Garden Stone" to personalize with paints. I picked up the rocks from my local Home Depot as ordered and was pleased with the personal service of the staff. The box that contained the rocks was bent and not completely sealed but the bag inside, that contained the rocks, was securely sealed so the order was complete. We are, talking about ROCKS, here. Hahaha! The order even arrived several days ahead of when I needed them so I was pleased with that also. I was totally surprised and happy with this order and will not hesitate to order from them again.

These may be okay for a garden project, but I bought them for painting. I was disappointed with my selection. There were 34 rocks (4 of them damaged) and I was only able to use 13 of them. the rest were too big and thick. There was only 1 rock that was 1 inch thick, the rest were 1 1/2 to 2 thick. I really wanted flat rocks, it's difficult to judge thickness from the pictures when purchasing.

Most of these stones survived travel (we had about a half a ton delivered to the house). They look great, rounded and uniform in color. However, not all of them made it unscathed. Many of the stones were cracked open, chipped, broken. That said, the intact stones are exactly what we wanted.

For what I used them for (fill in my garden) they worked just fine. If you need for the appearance to be "full" then you will need quite a bit but I mixed the 3-5" with 1-3" and 2-3" as well
