Questions & Answers

Q:Do you offer installation

Answer This Question

A:  These questions are routed to the supplier. I can answer questions on boilers and hydronic heating systems I can’t speak definitively on Home Depot’s installation services. I do know that installation services vary by region. To find out if installation is available in your area, I would suggest contacting your local store or the Home Depot installation department at 855 752 3352. They will be able to tell you if installation is available in your area and be able to make arrangements for you to get a quote.

A:  Product questions are routed to the supplier. Although I can answer questions about this boiler, I cannot speak to The Home Depot’s installation services as they vary throughout the country. I would suggest you reach out to one of the following, your local store, The Home Depot installation web site or give them a call at 855 752 3352.

      Answer This Question

A:  This is an oil-fired boiler designed to be a source of hot water for hydronic heating system. I cannot tell you if it is the correct unit for your system as I am unfamiliar with your system. The efficiency of oil-fired equipment is measured during the annual service. It is typically between 80%-84%. The efficiency of oil equipment has not really increased in the last 30 or more years. To assume that a new piece of equipment is going to result in large fuel savings would be a mistake. I would suggest that you look at the result of your last efficiency test. A system is only as good as its weakest link. There may be other things that can be done to decrease operating costs, rather than changing the boiler. If you do elect to change the boiler you want to make sure it is sized properly. Sized to the system and house. I run into many situations where the boiler is twice the size it needs to be. This results in short cycling and a lot of heat running up the chimney when the boiler shuts off. Oil boilers have a design life of 20 years. At 39 years old yours has gone through two lifetimes. There is a strong possibility that it is time for a new one. That would mean it is also time to do a review of the entire system. In my own home I elected to move away from oil as it was just too expensive as a fuel choice. I converted to propane because the price per BTU of heat was less, and equipment was available with efficiencies above 95%. This made the upgrade more expensive and involved but in the long run will pay for itself. Chris 978 651 3301

        Answer This Question

A:  Yes, and more. Such as a circulator and pressure relief valve as an example. If you scroll down the Home Depot product listing page you will come to a section entitled Product Details. If you expand that section you will see PDF’s of the product documents. If you open up the brochure and the use and care manual you will find a lot more detail on the product. If you have further questions please feel free to call. Chris 978 651 3301

By far one of the best units
Installed this unit myself in 2019 and I'm not a Plumber or Steamfitter. Now 2022 and it has been running flawlessly since 2019. What attracted me to this model was the roll away hinged front door so as to inspect the combustion chamber.
