A:  Pat, I'm so sorry. I know nothing about convection ovens. I only know that I love my oven liner. Not only does it catch spills but the spill just wipes off. I don't think it's a heat shield but made out of material that won't catch on fire in high heat. Hope this helps.

A:  Hi JF012, This oven liner does NOT release an odor during the heating process!

A:  I've had the liner in my electric oven for over a year now. And have never noticed any odor from it,

A:  I have had NO ODER in the heating process OR the cooking. When the oven cools I simple pull our the liner and shake it off of the debris then wipe with a damp cloth. Truly amazing.

A:  No odor. And does not interfere with the thermostat temperature.
